sounds as if your exhaust/air exit/lint thorough fare may be plugged-blocked or building up thus holding moisture in unit, You may wish to use a shop vac hose hooked to exhaust side of vacumn to force air thru lint clean out after removing lint screen and/or also make sure dryer has not been forced back into the wall thus crimping exhaust chute and perhaps check outside to see if exhaust vent flapper chute is clear of obstruction and also opening as dryer runs, Good Luck and keep an eye out-fire hazard if dryer overheats and is actually a blocked exhaust, take care.

if you haven't tried this, unplug the power or shut the circuit breaker off for 15 minutes, this may reset the defaults on the unit,if this doesn't help, then shut off power to the unit and open up unit and disconnect each and every connector to check for poor conduction, then reconnect power,if this doesn't help then replace the c.c.u. central control unit

F40 = thermal fuse blown.
If the fuse is OK the error points to a communication problem between the machine control board and motor control board (check connectors).

PF means power Failure unplug hold the cancel button for 3-5 seconds if the pf doesnt disappear then unplug the unit for 7 minutes this will make the control reset on the board if the pf still doesnt fade then you would have a control issue and most likely have to replace the control or call a technician if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped when our chat has fully concluded Thanks Rick

44 flashes if the motor control detects a low voltage condition.
This error code could also be caused by poor air flow, loose wiring harness or a malfunction of the electronic control board.

You can disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer & compare that airflow to the airflow at the outside damper, they should be almost the same.

If you have a multimeter and the ability to safely check the voltage at the dryer outlet, you can check for 120 volts at the outlet for the dryer.

If the voltage is low or drops when the dryer is running, this is causing your problem.
You could have a loose wiring connection.

If the outlet voltage is okay, you could have a wiring connection problem between the outlet and the control board of the dryer.

It happens when the door is slammed shut.

Sometimes it is not the owner's fault - as the latch and striker become misaligned with use.

not much more than a service call for 1 hour work.
Rates vary depending on location.
Expect $60-$80 plus parts.

This symptom indicates a stuck key on the user interface control board.
Replacing this control board would most likely fix this type of problem.
The part number for the user interface for this model is 8564374.

You can order this part from SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, PartSelect.com etc.

The procedure for replacing this control board is shown in the images below.

Before buying any parts I suggest you access the interface ribbon and disconnect it and then connect it back and see if there is any improvement.

You might also remove the interface from the console and check the console for any stuck buttons.

Remember to unplug the washer first.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.
