The fault code E1 means the electronic control detected the thermistor is open. It's either the wire harness connecting the thermistor and electronic control is broken or the connection is loose or the thermistor is indeed open. Measure the resistance of the thermistor then refer to the temperature and resistance table for the normal thermistor resistance values.

I got a f25 code on my he5 Kenmore washer

This is a communication error with the motor. The first spot I would check the MCU on the lower front of the unit. Remove the lower front panel three screws check the wires there unplug and plug back in if that does not work check the wires on the top board. The top has three screws in it then it will slide back and off.

Kenmore HE 5t error code F21, how do I resolve

The F21 Error is a LONG DRAIN error. The manual tells you to check to make sure your drain hoses are not clogged or routed badly. In reality, I just had to clean out the gunk trap. It's pretty easy. Remove the front kick plate, and there is a plastic thing that you twist and pull out. Clean out all the socks and such, and twist it back in. Then clean up all the water that leaked out onto the floor.

If you have a leaking FRONT LOADER, the following link explains how to access and inspect your washer for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

In the majority of the cases with front loaders, the door bellow begins to leak. A routine inspection of the seal perimeter will tell you if there are any rips or tears. If the bellow is damaged, it must be replaced. The following link explains how:

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

Follow the tips in the links provided and make sure you inspect all the drain hoses, drain pump cover and tub seals as well.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Not getting clothes completely dry. Bad smell

The problem is the water in the vent pipe. You will have to empty the water out of the vent pipe. If the vent is running under the house, crawl under, starting at the closest dip to the dryer and work it out to the exterior. Then use some wire or ties to secure it to the floor joists to keep the dips from reoccurring. If there is water in the pipe, then the dryer can't blow the warm, moist air out of the tumbler. It is the equivalent of trying to dry clothes in a sauna. There is nothing wrong with the dryer, it is working correctly. The problem is the vent.

The Control Lock is a safety feature that enables the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent small children from manipulating the controls and accidentally starting the appliance. This can usually be reset and does not require a technician.

With the lock on, the control panel is disabled and you cannot use any of the controls, except the button to unlock it. It can inadvertently be set following a power outage, leaning against the control panel, or pressing and holding the wrong button. This is usually not an indication of a malfunction.

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured front loader, the following link explains how to lock/unlock this feature:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608801-control_panel_lock

These instructions are also printed on the front panel of the appliance and in the owner's manual.

If this does not correct your problem, then you may have a more serious problem than a simple operator control button issue (such as an operator console problem or main control board issue).

Please post back if you still need assistance. I hope this helps you.

I got a f20 code on my he5 washer

F20 on Kenmore indicates a problem with the water inlet AKA insufficient water supply. Start by checking the water inlet hose. It it kinked or clogged. A variety of clogs can be found in the inlet hose such as coins clips etc., so make sure you check it thoroughly. It may also be possible that there is some ice blocking the inlet(Thanks to the cold weather). So if you live in a cold place then this is ice is one of the biggest problem you can face. If there's nothing wrong with the inlet then check the water faucets and see if they are on. If you have found nothing after checking all of the above mentioned things, then its probably time for you to call a serviceman to check it thoroughly. If you can get me your zip code I can search our repair directory and give you the list of service men in your area.

Hope this helps,
Sai.

Air in dryer not hot?

The heating element have got old and brittle over time and finally gave up the ghost. But it is not always the element. It could be one of the safety Hi-limits have blown. All parts of the dryer will have continuity if its working properly. Test for continuity by using a meter set on Ohms,or use a poor man's meter. You can make your own poor man's meter by using an ordinary flashlight . Break the circuit in the flashlight and add a couple of wires to it so that you can make the light come on in the flashlight, that's right hot wire that flashlight. When the bulb lights up you have a circuit! You now have a poor man's meter. The next step is to check each little gizmo on the dryer that the wires attach to. All the limits attached to the side of the heat element, the door switch (when door is closed) etc.should have continuity (closed circuit)(the light should come on in the poor man's meter) If you come across an thing near the blower housing with 2 wires attached to it, that is a thermal limit, a safety or a control thermostat (So as not to get a false circuit you need to remove one of the wires to each thing you check) Look for lint buildup or blocked vent going out the house. If everything is good and you have paid the electric bill, then the timer could be bad.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

I have the same problem . If I power cycle mine enough times I eventually get a F70 or F71 code. My research online suggests that the user interface board has a problem and needs to be replaced.

The good news is the warranty covers these boards for two years. The bad news is they are $360 if you are out of warranty.

Trying to find out how much part #7 on the exploded view of the Kenmore elite electric dryer model 110.2808 is? It is a motor.

110.2808 is an incomplete model number. Motors are typically $140 to $180 USD https://www.easyapplianceparts.ca/PartInfo.aspx?inventory=334304&SourceCode=18 This is is a typical Kenmore model designation and is probably the matching washer to your dryer. Yours is missing 4 numbers. Label in the back, label on the door frame, mentioned on the manual.
