Built in microphone not working
Have you been on to the Sony website to find drivers for these components? It's possible that Sony haven't got drivers for Win8 yet. Did you run the Windows upgrade preparation tool before upgrading?

Touch sensor a/v controls sony
Hi hendridahlan,
The Touch Sensor AV Control Buttons above the Keyboard will not work if the Touchpad Driver in the Computer is not installed correctly. It is required to re-install the Touchpad Driver in the Computer to fix this issue.
You can download the Touchpad Driver from the below link.
ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/SPDOTH-16224700-64.EXE
Please restart the Computer after the installation for the settings to take the effect. This should fix the issue.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
Please post back if you require further assistance.

It would either be one of two things. either the LCD backlight is not getting power completely until it has warmed up, or there is a slight disconnect with the ribbon cable that attaches the LCD screen to the motherboard. Either one of those will have to require the computer being opened up and inspected by a technician.

Hi k_angelc,
Since that water is spilled inside the Computer, please do not turn it ON or
connect to the AC Power. This will cause serious Hardware damages in the
Computer. I would recommend that you contact Sony Service Center to repair the
Computer immediately.
You can contact Sony Service Assistance Team at 1-800-282-2848 to setup a service at Sony Service Center.
