I want to reset my

There are a couple ways to do this. When you bought the laptop you should have gotten a system restoration disk with it. To use this simply put it in the CD drive and it should autorun with simple instructions on how to restore your HP notebook to factory settings. The easiest way to do this is with HP recovery. For a full system restoration, press the F11 key during bootup and then select "Recover PC" from the menu. This is the simplest way to recover your computer, however it will not work if your computer is unable to start up. Note that this will not work if your computer is unable to boot, or if some of the files needed for the recovery are corrupted, which is why you may need the disk.
If your computer simply isn't running like it used to be due to something you recently installed, you could just try a system restore instead of a full restore. Go to your search bar in Windows Vista or 7 and type in "rstrui." This should bring you to the system restore file called rstrui.exe. Click on this and choose the earliest date possible. Note that you may have to check the box in the lower left that says "Show me more restore points," and that this will only work if your computer is set to create restore points often.

Trying to do system restore. when i hit f11

you can only do this on certain netbooks, you need to have the image already on your harddrive,,on my netbook its F9 whilst booting (every other boot)
so goto manufacturers site and find out how to do this.
also just as a side note if you take the battery out on the hp mini, some models have a 3g modem built in there might be a little slot for a sim card ,on the extreme left hand side within the battery compartment--good luck!

Boot manager is compress

Boot Manager is compressed???

here are two solution:
1.
"BOOTMGR is compressed. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
Check points for fixing compressed boot-manager:
Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and perform a "Startup Repair".
If the above doesn't solve the problem then boot into WinRE again, but when selecting the Vista-installation, then press "Load Drivers" (Instead of "Next") and use the mini Windows Explorer to right-click the boot-drive and deselect "Compress this Drive" and choose Apply to sub-folders and files.
If that also fails then boot into WinRE again, and go to the "Command Prompt" and execute these commands:
compact /U C:\bootmgr
compact /U C:\ntldr
If you for some strange reason have lost your Vista DVD, then you can also use a Windows 2000 / XP install CD and enter the recovery console instead and execute the following commands:
attrib -c c:\bootmgr
attrib -c c:\ntldr

2.if the above solution did not work for you try this easy way:
reboot, push open the dvd drive, load OS Vista CD/DVD, before the ridiculed bootmgr compressed shows, shutdown, boot from the dvd, let the installer do it’s job.
when reach choice “install now” choose “repair the pc” instead.
In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.
click Startup Repair.
Just click “load drives”since you know the answer about “repair”….nothing wrong..)=:
see that??, you’re inside your HD!! I assuming that from here everybody knows what to do, if not, that what follow:
Browse for your “C” Drive, right click properties and fellas, reverse what you did, exit, reboot.

I can't delete ArcSoft software from my add/remove area

I'll tell you, but you're going to have to go the long way. Best method I'm aware of.

Plus I suggest you download CCleaner. CCleaner is a free registry cleaner. (Don't let the fact that it is free, dissuade you one bit! It's a better registry cleaner program than the PAID for one's are! )

After you delete a program there are 'tidbits' left behind. Fragmented files. These take up space also, and in essence are just junk. Like having partial pages torn out of a book. A registry cleaner rids you of them.

This is information about CCleaner from Wikipedia.org,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCleaner

After you view the information, and wish to download CCleaner, simply go to the right of the page, under the illustration, and click on the website address.
After you download CCleaner, come back if you wish, and I'll explain the easy way of how to run the program.

Long way of deleting a program, but assurance that it will be gone. (After using CCleaner also)

Windows XP Home running, Left-click on Start.
Hover your mouse cursor on All Programs, go up to Accessories, over and down to Windows Explorer, and click on it. (This isn't Internet Explorer, in case you are not familiar with Windows Explorer)

After Windows Explorer has loaded, go up to the top header. Left-click on Tools. Now on Folder Options in the drop down list. Finally Left-click on the View tab.

In the list, go down to where there is a yellow folder with - Hidden files and folders - to the right of it.

Below this you will see an empty circle, and to the right of it - Show hidden files and folders
Left-click once in this box.

Now go below to the right, and Left-click on Apply. Finally go down to the left, and click on OK.

After you do this a Microsoft 'squawk box' will come up. "Warning you are.........."
It's okay. Click on OK if present.
The reason this warning box comes up is that a user can delete necessary Windows files, IF, they do not know what they are doing.

I'm not going to guide you towards destructing your Windows operating system, rest assured. We are not going anywhere near Windows files. Just the ArcSoft program file that's about to hit the trashcan.

When you open Windows Explorer, the default setting is to automatically open your My Documents folder. You can see a negative sign ( - ) next to My Documents in the 'file tree' to the left, and the contents of your My Documents folder to the right.

I like to close the file tree for My Documents. Less clutter, and less chance of getting confused.

If you are of the same mind, go up to the - sign next to My Documents, and Left-click right on the - sign. It will turn into a + sign, and close that part of the file tree.

Now Left-click on the + sign next to,

1.My Computer
2.Then - Local Disk (C:)
3.Now scroll down to - Program Files

Scroll through these programs. See ArcSoft? Left-click on the ArcSoft name. The individual folders and files will appear on the right, in the large window.

Now double-click on a Folder. The folder will open, and display individual files. Right-click on a File, then in the drop down menu, Left-click on Delete.

You may not be able to delete the entire folder for ArcSoft, (Too large for Recycle Bin), but you can delete individual files, until the folders are empty 'husks'.
Then you can use the Back arrow at the upper left, and Right-click on the folder/s. Delete them.

You may come to a file that has an extension - .dll
You may not be able to delete this type of file. It's okay. After you shut down your computer, wait 1 minute, come back into Windows Explorer, and try it again.

Finally use CCleaner, and get rid of the file fragments.

I know this is long, and I apologize in advance. has worked for me to delete stubborn programs for years. (Norton, AOL, and others)

Has worked better than using the Uninstall feature, if the program comes with one, and any Uninstall option listed on the Internet for a program.

Have questions? I'm all ears.
