Consider NOT using a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

You may use any SD card, up to 2GB in size. You may also use any SDHC card, up to 32GB in size. A faster card may download faster if you use a card reader but will not affect the operation of the camera. Any of the major brands will work.

Perhaps you left it in a cupboard for a long time, without charging? And even when not, batteries sometimes go down. When you charged it for about 6 hours on a PC, it should be powered up complete. If not, stop the charging, let is cool down and then try it again. If the same thing happens again, I'm affrays you have to look for a new Battery. Since the battery is inside, without a battery door, you can't repair it yourself. But perhaps you try ifixit dot com to see if they can help when you want to replace the battery yourself.
