Seiko chronograph alarm

Solution #3 (Posted by Guest on 5 Mar 08) is spot on. Quick and easy method to reset the chrono hands (it was not in my Seiko manual).
Interestingly, this can also be used to set the chrono ahead (or behind--with a little math) for offset timing measurements.

Remove back fro wrist watch to change battery

Generally Seiko uses a pop off back and a screw off back. The pop off back will be smooth and have no indication of how to come off. The screw off back will have several rectangular notches around the back where the prongs of a watch wrench fit.
Before you begin you should know that this watch is water resistant and sealed to 100m. This means you do not have the equipment to reseal the watch and you void Seikos warranty. Also, the titanium models are more difficult to seal the back because of the hardness of the steal and the powder coating. They generally require that you replace the rear seal to make the watch water resistant again.
To remove a pop off back use a watch knife and press it straight into the separation between the case and back. Do not use a sharp knife or widdle back and forth as this may damage the surface where the seal is or make burrs. Once you have driven the knife straight in you can move around the back repeating this until the back is completely off.
To remove the screw off back place the watch wrench in the grooves at 10, 2, and 6 o clock. Make sure the prongs are pointed inward toward the wrench the same direction to avoid slipping and damaging the watch. Turn counter clockwise until the back is off.
When taking the back off in either case you must be careful not to slip and scratch the coils or vital parts of the watch. These damage by touch and this will cause the watch to not work. Also, most chronographs require the watch be AC'd. The instructions for this are usually on the back lid of the watch or in the owners manual. If you make a mistake ACing the watch you can short it out or break the circuit board.
Because of the complexity of this seemingly simple task i recommend going to a watch maker/ technician to avoid complications that could end up costing you much more in the long run.

Re-set quartz chronograph sweeping second hand

Easy Soultion worked for me. Believe Me I was worried only had the Seiko Sportura for a week now. My second dial for the stopwatch was re-setting to 5 seconds instead of zero. The Solution is
1. pull the Crown all the way out ( In the position you take the crown to set the time , second click ).
2. To set the minute face of stop watch , keep pressing the top button untill it is zero. To set the second needle to zero keep pressing the bottom button untill it reaches zero or where you like it to re-set each time. Depend on you.
3. Once all neddles of stopwatch are at resting postions ( usually zero) secure the crown back to its normal postion. Test your stop watch , hopefully it will go back to zero when you press the reset button. C

Set date

hello..this is not abig problem..just a sincronization one...ususlly I set the date around the 12 oclock in the night..the 0 hour..its easier...if you dont want to do this...well..then just count the hours ..remember you have the 24 hours /day..and remember the date is changing in the night around 12 oclock..
for instance...lets say..now you want to set the date..you count the hours until tonight at 12...you put it lets say...with 12 hours back..and wait the change in the midnight..
the easier way is to set it at midnight
oh...by the way..I saw watches which change the date around 2 oclock in the night..but this is a very small %...99% are set to do it at 12..
good luck
