It is asking company and its serial number
You don't need to fill in the field for company, or you can just put your name in there. The serial number will be included with the software when you purchased it. Either on the box, or on a piece of paper inside.

You could try running a "chkdsk" scan overnight to repair any damaged data on your hard drive. Open "My Computer" and right click on the drive you have you photos stored upon. Select "Properties" from the menu. Click on the "Tool" tab of the box that comes up. Click on "Check" and scan your drive for errors. If you get a message that it needs to "Schedule" the scan say YES. Reboot your system when your don and leave it for the the time it needs to do the scan.

* Older file formats refer back to IBM, XP, and even Window 10 days. You may need to access the WWW (the whole world system) to find an online app to open older file formats. It may be that the app (called program back in the day.) is there but needs to run on a certain platform. (XP, Linux, Win Vista, ect.)
* Try "opening" the file using the web browser as the app to open it. The browser will probably ask to search the www for a program that will open (but not necessarily read it).
* If you do know the title or author of the document. Then try to search the title, author to check if they re-published (posted) the document in a current format. Many archives perform this routine format update.
* A last ditch effort would be to convert the file to "TXT" or "ASCII" format. Then have a coder look at it to identify if it's a program, document, or picture.
* Documents in ASCII or Text format can be saved to a simple word document then uploaded to a current wood processor.
* Pictures will have to be converted with a conversion program to upgrade it to current format.
* Program can only be run on platforms that it was designed for. Like trying to run Atari on a Sony player. (though popular games have already been upgraded to the newer formats)

Create New Illustrator File:
-Double-click the Adobe Illustrator icon on your desktop to open the program. Click the File drop-down and select the "New" option.
-Choose the size and color mode for the file and then click the "OK" button.
-Click the File drop-down and then select the "Place" option. Choose the "All Formats" from the Files of Type menu when the Place dialog box appears.
-Select the damaged Illustrator file and then click "Place." Enter a new name for the file and then click "Save." This will create a new Illustrator file with information from the damaged file. or you can try to use illustrator recovery , this is nice PAID service . i wish you good luck

What is the extension on the file? Maybe the power outage damaged the file. Try a right-click of the file, click Open With, locate Adobe Reader and select. Make sure "Always use this program" is checked.
