If you were looking for the free version, then you have downloaded the wrong one. Go to AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition and download that instead.

Hello,first try to find the driver from device manager(right click to my computer,properties,hardware,device manager).Once you have open the device manager press on View and check Show hidden devices,your driver(virus) is on non plug and play drivers and with right click you can unistall it.But if is a root kid and a tought one it should have another file in your system to recreate it!So clean your windows temp files and internet temporary internet files(you can with a application or just right click to your disk,properties and click disk clenup).If you still can fix it
download HijackThis and in the main menu press do a system scan and save logfile.After open your logfile and give me the results

I downloaded avg 9.0 (upgrade from 8.5) and

now avg 9 has now new network secure utils, so you need to reinstall and take some special attention on network config.

Updated to AVG9. Use firefox browser. Now can't access Yahoo e-ma

Good browser, good antivirus; Yahoo is kind of disgusting the way it dumps ads out all over, and AVG probably puts things in the way of those ads some day carrying malware in Firefox. Since IE has a different callback API, it has to work from greater distance in that case.

I recommend using a POP3 proxy service or application to access Yahoo e-mail unless you love Yahoo's interface. In the latter case, enter a trouble ticket at AVG's site and/or forum site, and a love letter to Yahoo Mail developers, and try IE and Chrome for now.

First of all Conficker Worm only impacts Windows Operating System so Mac’s(Macintosh) and Unix/Linux users are safe!

Step 1: Open Internet Explorer Go to Tools>Windows Update make sure you are up to date with patches.

Step 2: Scan your PC Online with Microsoft Live Scanner

Step 3: Download Conficker Removal Tool from Symantec's Website , Trend Micro’s Cleanup Engine, or Malwarebytes

Step 4: Download AVG Antivirus FREE software from http://www.avg.com/free & make sure to update your virus definition.

Well after these 4 steps above, you should be safe.

How to get cleared of virus not just scanning

just follow my simple steps
step 1:start>run>type cmd there>
step 2:dos window appears
step 3:in case your virus is in c: drive then
type
step 4:cd\
step 5:dir/ah(this is written to see hidden file and folders)
step 6:attrib -s -h -r -a virusname.extension
step 7:del virusname.extension

if your virus is in d: drive then
type
d:
then follow step 5,6and 7

There is a registry hack to enable or disable Windows NT TaskManager. The same registry hack applies to Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Name: DisableTaskMgr
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1=Enablethis key, that is DISABLE TaskManager
Value: 0=Disablethis key, that is Don't Disable, Enable TaskManager

As part of the enhanced management available in Windows 2000 and Windows XP, rather than risking a registry change, as an administrator you can enable or disable Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro's TaskManager using Group Policy Editor. This can be applied to the local policy. Note: if you are trying to override your organizations group policy, you can't. As soon as you re-authenticate to the domain, the domain or OU Group Policy will rewrite the registry setting. But if the TaskManager was accidently disabled or you need to control this item for a set of standalone boxes this is for you:

Click Start
Click Run
Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
In the Group Policy settings window
- Select User Configuration
- Select Administrative Templates
- Select System
- Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
- Select Remove Task Manager
- Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

And as I mentioned above, since the policy is Remove Task Manager, by disabling the policy, you are enabling the Task Manager.

With a web browser? Each brower has a seacrh capability. If you are looking for fact based, authoratative material, you must learn to question what the source of the material is. If you are a student looking for essay material, you might look at the internet public library site. Or, try Google Scholar. If looking for news, you might try www.hotsheet.com. Just how you brouse the internet changes depending upon your intent. The more you sharpen your query, the more likely to recieve refined answers. And just querying for the best of anything doesn't make the result valid; some such result are "optimized" to pop up as a result of paid for services. And the more you look, the more "trackers" try to mold advertising content to your searches. But if you are just wanting to "look around", you might find something of interest in a site called Brain Pickings. Clean your browser every once in a while with something like CCleaner.
