Symantec anti virus auto protection
Most likely you have a Microsoft virus.
One of the first actions of a virus is to disable any anti-virus software it finds.
Remember which comes first the virus or the ant-virus? With 70% increase year on year of M$ malware it is extremely difficult to deal with.
The best solution is to simply move over to Linux and to dump M$.
Firstly all the software including operating system is free.
Secondly Unix and Linux are secure by design and cannot have viruses.
And then one should remember that computers have been going a very long time. Unix last year celebrated 40 years (1969). And of course, there has never been a virus on a Unix or Linux system ever.
Windows in contrast is insecure by design and di not come out until 1992, so it is very new and very bad system.
But, to answer your problem what I usually do in such situation is to download using another machine the full version of AVG free from:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus
and also download the updates from:-
http://free.avg.com/gb-en/download-update
Now, put these files on a USB key and then plug it into the infected machine.
Install the AVG free from the USB key.
Do the updates from the USB key.
Do a full system scan
And do this work with the infected machine prpoerly disconnected from the internet.
Only after you have done all this should you reconnect to the internet.
Good Luck! - I am so GLAD I do not use M$ and I have been using computers pretty aggresively ever since 1971.

How can i download AVG
Hi,
I recommend you its better using ESET NOD32 instead of AVG more powerfull and uses your system resources less and does not slow down your computer. Safest for preventing your system from todays viruses.
