I purchase norton subscription renewal on

Pro-tip: don't use Norton. It's system hog and expensive. Better to use a free antivrus and spyware monitoring program. There's lots available at filehippo.com. I'd recommend AVG antivirus.

My name is harold lanham and i renewed my norton

Harold,

Try going to this website for help with your subscription:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/index.jsp

(Suggestion: Don't type your email into a public site like FixYa. Although FixYa is reputable, it is possible for computers belonging to unscrupulous individuals to "read" your email from this site (not FixYa's fault) and use it to sent junk "spam" email to you.)

Good luck! Please let us know if this solves your problem.

How do i download the norton uninstall tool to a

assuming that your flash drive is working and you know how to move/transfer/put files on a flash drive it should be a simple operation as to simply
1. download the norton removal tool from their site.. see here
2. move the installer you just downloaded in step one to the flash drive.
(you can right click on the complete downloaded file and click sent to>(your flash drive)

when executing it's usually better to copy the unisntaller onto the affected machine instead of running the application from the flash drive, not technically required but depending, it's my recommendation based on experience when dealing with old flash drives.

if you need further details feel free to ask.

I have renewal code for my Norton 2009 but unabe to renew

I have always hated norton. Its annoying, costs money, uses lots of memory and does a crappy job at finding viruses. I would recommend AVG antivirus. Don't worry its free and there is no dumb codes to enter.

Have renewed Norton anti virus for the next year

when you have ordered the renewal, you should have received an email with a renewal code. Even if you have not received the email just go to the URL so that you can access your order and get the renewal code. (www.findmyorder.com or http://shop.symantecstore.com/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=ContentTheme&Locale=en_US&SiteID=symnahho&ThemeID=106300&pbPage=OrderStatus&resid=S7XhpQoBAkgAADuUy8QAAAAb&rests=1270210979283)

once you have the renewal code, you can open the Norton program and click on subscription and follow the instruction.

I cannot use Norton as my computer keeps freezing

Hello,

1. the only possibility to get the system hang is either you have more than one security software in the computer other than Norotn
2. the second possibility is your computer has a virus in it.
3. third possibility is the system configuration is not up to the minimum requirement. (considering 2008/09/10 products)

solution:- remove the other security software from the computer keep only Noroton antivirus/internet security. Norton itself is more than enough to protect your computer.

Refund

to get a refund of a new product you may go to the URL:- https://www.findmyorder.com/servlet/SecureControllerServlet?Action=DisplayHomePage&SiteID=findmyor&Locale=en_US

to get a refund of your renewal please go to this link:- http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/dtree.jsp?id=returns

hope this helps.

I renewed my subscription on 10 March, Order No.

This is an issue that frequently comes up. Please make sure that you have your product key from your new subscription stored (the MyNorton account is a useful place to store the data since you can cut and paste the number into Norton IS).

First check if NIS 2009 has your correct subscription information. Start the program, click on Help and Support > Subscription Status. Click Finish when that window finishes its activity.

If it is still confused, my solution is to update to Norton Internet Security 2010 (no cost to you).

One way to do this is through the Norton Update Center:
http://updatecenter.norton.com/?NUCLANG=en

The other is to use the Norton Removal Tool:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
After the product removes all trace of any Norton product and rebooting your computer, if you have a good internet connection, it will lead you through downloading and installing the updated product. I recommend the Removal Tool since frequently the error you report is due to NIS not correctly updating the registry when the new subscription is updated.

I hope this helps.

I forgot my email id given and the product key no.

Throw away the Symantec software.

If you have a "legal" copy of Windows XP/Vista/7,
access http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials and download/install this *FREE* anti-virus software.

Make sure that the "Windows Firewall" is enabled.

With the firewall and the anti-virus, you do NOT need the Symantec software.

Anti-Virus paid for Norton says my Product Key is invalid

If it's expired it means you have to get a new one, most anti virus software are sold for a limited amount of time. Either way Norton is no good, I run Avast free edition and I never had any problems, you should get it too, and if you feel like having even better protection you can buy avast for life for only 65 CAD, which I bet is less than Norton.
