Have a slt connected to
By default, a TA-824 seizes outside lines from high to low. You can't change that order, but you can dial the 8x code to get each line. As an alternative, in program 400, you disable the lines that don't work, but you'll still select the highest line assigned to the single line port when you dial 9.
I don't know why your PT is different, but when I dial 9 on the intercom of my PT, I also select the top line.

How do i connect my kxta824 to the computer to
What info are you trying to download? My TA-824 came with a Maintenance console that runs under Windows XP or highter. You plug the phone system in, turn on the power, and plug the USB cable into the system. You need to install the MC first, because it will put USB drivers on your desktop that the phone system needs to find when the cable is plugged in. After it finds it, you run the MC software and it will connect to your TA system. Now you can Get program from the PBX and put it in a file on your PC, or upload a program from your PC to the TA system.Carl

Want to have message "Thanks
Get your manual out and review DISA. A single port is included in the U.S. version of the system. It's the best way to make this work, because a TA-824 doesn't have ring groups except from the DISA card.

What does a DICA card
It's a DISA (Direct Inward System Access) card and you don't. All you have to do is just turn it off in software. In C.O. programs 414-416 or 3.1 in the Maintenance Console, you make sure that no lines are pointed to DISA and probably set to Normal and the system will ring normally.
