IF is ignition failure. Verify that you have a good Ignitor and that your gas supply is adequate to fire the unit. I rarely see the internal gas valve fail on any Hayward unit. Be careful if you have to put your hand in there. The electric circuit on the smaller heaters is not typically 24VAC, it is usually 120VAC in the U.S.

"LO" is simply informing you that the Heater is not sensing proper water flow through it! A Flow Problem. A special sensor, called a pressure switch is this source. But... That does not mean it is bad - No, it is in most cases just doing its job! Most common reason - Dirty Filter. A good cleaning of the cartridges, or maybe a breakdown and recharge of a DE Filter, or a good cleansing backwash of your sand filter, will remedy this situation. Or... Check for any OTHER reason or situations water flow may be reduced through the heater:
  • enough water in pool or spa?
  • If you have a weir gate in skimmer, is it stuck in the UP position?
  • Are any valves closed?
  • Do you have a bypass valve at the heater?
    • If open, this will reduce the amount of water going thru heater, close it to the point, LO goes away.
  • Could be debris in front of Pressure Switch, in the copper tubing
    • Unscrew and remove pressure switch, turn pump on. But first, align end of tube so that when water squirts out it will shoot out from heater and not onto electronic heater components!
  • If all above is good, you may have failed pressure switch?
  • Etc
Good Luck - hope this helped.

I am having the same problem. the Baffle was loose so I attached it with a little gap at the top, then started shaking and pulsating but not as mush this time. Like you I'm not sure where exactly the baffle shoud be, or if there is something else that was damaged. Hopefully someone can chime in that had a successful repair. Or with any other thoughts.

On this heater, the conversion may be a kit that replaces all the orifices. In any case if you call Hayward technical support they should be able to provide the correct solution. I hope this helps.

I dont thnk you have a pilot light on this model ... I think it is lit by a electronic device that glows.

Remove the front cover and look up into the burner area. Turn the heater on. Can you see a red glow?

Only the manufacturer can answer this one. This may require a change of the burner assembly or only a jet feeding the burner.

Replace the thermocouple that the pilot light heats up to keep the gas on.
