WHEN this motor catches on fire it will destroy the rest of your pump and probably take out your filter also. Maybe your house while it's at it.. Replace the motor. You are literally playing with fire.

Hurlcon pool pump reset switch where is it??

If there is a reset it will be locater near the power inputs, could be beneath a cover. Try looking here:http://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/NorthStar.pdf

Myhayward variflo valve spider gasket is unseating during use. local pool store told me to use high temp gasket glu to secure the gasket in place. is that correct?

Replace pool motor

First you'll need to take the outer 6 bolts off the pump housing and that will allow you to remove the impeller and impeller housing with the motor. Then you can remove all the impeller parts and get to the bolts that hold your motor to the housing....
When you get the impeller and the housing free, check to see if your motor will turn... alot of times the motors get jammed because the pump sucks debris and jams in the impeller.... you may be able to still use your motor...worth a try...

How do i replace the wet gasket on hayward hot tub

the caulk you would use for window sealant 3m or ge .. if there is a chance of allergy. my best guess would be fish tank silicone .. it's safe for the fishes ? .. the nice thing about silicone is it comes off easy when a repair to the pump is needed .. kool //// Jay the pool pump motor repair guy in longwood Florida

Just jump on the internet and find the best deal from any of the pool equipment supply companies. Order it from them and UPS will deliver it to your door.

as long as the frame size matches i.e. 56J in this case then you should have NO issue with changing the motor mfg.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

You need to replace the gasket inside the valve to stop the leak. The gasket kit is pretty cheap and not too hard to replace. It should be a "go kit 10" or gkit10. You should be able to call any local pool store to get the part you need without any trouble. The kit includes other gaskets parts to ensure as you replace the key gasket you change the rest while you are at it. You may be able to just purchase the key gasket but for the money difference, the kit is the way to go.
