I cleaned it now it won't work, it's not showing

what did you clean it in??? the dish washer???? some times if the plug is removed on an older unit or the power turns off, they just wont start up again,,, its a fult with the micro chips in the computer, the suden surge of power when switshed back on just blows it up,,, iv lost at least 3 in this way
you could try pulling the plug out again but its not very likely to get it working again the real problem is they just dont build in a soft start on them now, so if unpluged then switched back on the computer get a wopping big smack of power that just blows is socks off,, like i sead, i lost 3 evey time the power was cut off they died on me

Tappan Microwave Oven

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open.

Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

When checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

The TCOs you need to be concerned usually with have all black or white wires only. Please reply with photos if you have questions.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You should do a continuity test on the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in, then test it again.

If you remove the fuse, then press the meter leads against the ends, it can allow internal contact to be made and make a bad fuse appear to be good.

NN-D851; Electronics seems to work OK, however

There is a fuse located on the electronic board inside the microwave that could be the issue.

If the fuse is not the problem, then you will need a serviceman as they can be quite complex.

You need to take the cover off it to be certain.

NOTE: If it is stainless steel, be very careful as it is extremely sharp!

Cant open the oven model nnst656w

What usually breaks is the door open lever. Sometimes it may be a worn door open button (the back side) or the face of the lever.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this.

On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be removed. At our site, we have a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Please unplug the oven first.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

You can order Panasonic parts from Tritronics (or call 866-779-5835) but if you don't find what you're looking for there, try here.

I need a manual for my Genius by Panasonic...

Assuming the NN-T888S is the correct model, you can download it from this URL:

http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/PNAEndecaEnterpriseSearchCmd?N=779832187&Ne=&No=0&Ntt=NN-T888S&Ntk=EnterpriseSearch&URL=vEnterpriseSearch&storeId=15001&cmTag=true

If that doesn't work, go to www.panasonic.com, click on 'support', search for your model number, and see if it will provide you with a link to download the manual.

Beeps quickly, won't stop beeping, display reads Reheat 4, 3, 2,

It sounds like you have a shorting membrane keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

The best place to order Panasonic parts is Tritronics. Or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

If you would like to have us do this repair for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your model number) for more information & help.

Using too much electicity!

We have been checking our electricity units
Not sure how you are checking but your microwave would blow fuses or trip a breaker if it was drawing more than it did since they are only ~ 50% efficient (any of them) which means a 1000 watt unit is pushing the limits of normal household circuits anyhow.
I bought two Kill-A-Watt power monitors for our two households and we are all happy with their convenience and the ability to quickly check anything that plugs into a standard US outlet and they are plenty accurate enough for us heathens.
Take a look:
Kill-A-Watt power monitor
I didn't price-shop too much but ours came to only $14 each plus shipping of $10 US.

Model Panasonic Microwave NN-T688SA. Oven

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You should be able to download your Panasonic owner's manual here.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

I have a Panasonic genius dimension4 nn-9853

Most probably the low voltage transformer of in the control panel is open . It has a thermal fuse which is between pin1 and pin 5 of the low voltage transformer. This fuse is however inside the transformer. If you get a DC resistance of about 350- 400 ohms between pin 5 and 6 of the transormer , connect an external 500ma fuse between pin 1 and pin5

Microwave Panasonic NN T551 new does not start even after pressing clock button , no display to set clock . Icon comes only. As : after pressing stop button. No other button gives any response

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your Panasonic microwave oven NNT551. If the clock button is not responding and you only see two dots when pressing the stop button, there might be a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Power Cycle the Microwave:
    • Unplug the microwave from the power outlet.
    • Wait for about 30 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and try setting the clock again.
  2. Check for Child Lock:
    • Some microwaves have a child lock feature that can prevent certain buttons from functioning. Check your manual to see if your model has this feature and how to disable it.
  3. Reset to Default Settings:
    • If there is an option in the manual or settings to reset the microwave to its default settings, try doing that.
  4. Inspect for Physical Damage:
    • Ensure there is no physical damage to the control panel or any other part of the microwave that may be affecting its functionality.
