Casablanca Fan 3245T Ceiling - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How can I prevent the outdoor fan from spinning in the wind?
One of the common reasons because of which you have an outdoor fan that spin in wind is a blown motor capacitor. The motor capacitor may simply burn out due to either overheating or age. ... In order to check the capacitor, you must first remove the motor housing.
Casablanca Intellitouch Fan was working fine..
Sounds like either the IT wall switch has malfunctioned, OR the IT board inside of the fan has shorted out. This is actually a fairly rare problem with the boards and you may get it covered under warranty. Try calling Casablanca. This fan is worth repairing rather than buying a new one.
Our casablanca ceiling fan has
If you have the intelitouch system, It's probably the circuit board in the fan. Casablanca has great motors but touchy boards. I ordered mine from www.fanmanlighting.com and installed it myself, it wasn't too difficult. Hope this helps
Casablanca stealth fan light scrapes against blade surround
There are two probable causes. One, the light housing has been pushed/bent up into the rotating assembly, which is possible if the fan were ever removed from the ceiling and sat on the glass.
If it has never been removed however, the most likely cause is that the Allen Set screw on the flywheel has loosened allowing the flywheel to slip down the motor shaft. It's a purely mechanical problem and if memory serves, to get to the flywheel, you remove the light pan and it's right there. Find the set screw, loosen it enough so that the flywheel is easy to move up and down and raise it up a bit and then cinch it down tight. It's a fairly common problem and for the life of me I cannot understand why Casablanca would not use loctite on that set screw. I mean you pay $500+ for a fan, it should outlast you, right?
I have a Casablanca ceiling/fan light with one
is the switch made to turn on and change the speed, the switch is acting up should chang the switch, but if you change the speed with the chains the wiring is loose up in the fan just need to take it down and tighten up the connections, good luck.
Flickering/buzzing CFLs when turning on
Is the difference that the new one is dimmable or you have installed a dimmer switch as well? If so thats the problem. CFL can't be dimmed and act weird on a transformer. Only option would be to open it and remove the dimmer pack inside the fan or swap to a normal wall switch.
I have a Casablanca Intelli touch ceiling fan.
My fan operates the same way. To reverse it, turn it on a low speed. Then, turn it off and on, then off and on again, quickly. You should hear a series of beeps, and the blades will slow down and then reverse. You may have to play a bit with the timing of the off/on/off/on sequence to get it right but you should be able to get it fairly easily.
I have a wall switch, top button for lights, second
Replace the switch. When Power Company electricity goes out and comes on by itself, it often "Surges" frying small electronic components. This is what happened. No biggie...happens all the time. Be sure to turn off power to the switch in your breaker box first.
Have power to fan connections, but fan and light
It could be either, but here's something easy to check first. Look inside the remote. You should see a small rectangle with several (usually 4-6) extremely tiny switches on it (called DIP switches) The receiver inside the fan shroud has one as well. The switches must be in the same pattern to work. It doesn't really matter what the pattern is, as long as it is the same. (that is for setting the frequency to prevent interference if there are several near each other)
Casablanca Ceiling Fan
I've never heard of the light and reverse buttons being reversed. Normally It's the fan and light thats swapped (but your aware of that already). I would try a working w-32 from one of the other fans. There's also a shop called Fan Man Lighting in Minnesota who has a guy named Jason who has been fixing fans for over 20 years, He helped me with my Casa problems. Their website is www.FanManLighting.com Hope this helps.
