Kwikset 907 907-11P Venetian Bronze Smart Code Smart Code Deadbolt with One Questions & Answers
Kwikset smartcode deadbolt newly installed unlocks when lock button pushed. I have taken batteries out and reset few times with no success.
"I have installed your Powerbolt, but when I push the Lock Button, it unlocks? What should I do?"First remove the cover on the inside of the Powerbolt unit. On the right hand side under the batteries, you will notice that is says "Door Direction Jumper". If the cap is mounted on Prongs 1 & 2, carefully remove it and move it over so that it mounts Prongs 2 & 3. A is right handed, B is left handed. You can get it here:http://get.adobe.com/reader/These locks are made to work on a door which, when you stand outside and face it, has its hinges on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the door (= door "handedness"). The jumper controls that for the appropriate installation. Yours is set wrong!

I would recommend verifying that the batteries are new and installed correctly. I did not see anything about an insertable/removable battery pack or the need to hold a lock button while changing the batteries. Under normal circumstances there is no need to reprogram the lock codes when batteries are changed.
I did see that if the bolt does not extend when the lock button is pressed that you need to reprogram the handedness of the door (see Step 4.9).
On page 9 of the installation instructions is Troubleshooting tips and a contact number for Kwikset USA :
1-800-327-5625. I'd recommend calling them directly if, after going through the installation instructions, that you have the same problem.

After replacing batteries twice my
Try reprogramming it with another code. It appears like it is detecting the unit being tampered with and is locking out the user. Sounds like an error and is not retaining the memory of the original code. How long have you had the unit and is it possible it needs replacing?
