Here is the answer I received from Hunter Technical Support.
"The light
fixtures are manufactured with a limiter that prevents a higher than
recommended wattage bulb from working. The limiter causes the slight delay even
when the correct bulbs are is in use."
If the fan is working but the light is not, the problem is usually a loose
connection between the power source and the light kit. Make sure the
red/blue/black & white striped wire is connected inside the canopy to the
power source, and inside the switch housing to the light kit's black wire. The
light kit's white wire should be connected to the white wire(s) inside the
switch housing. Check also that the light kit's pullchain is functional. It is
also possible that the fan's light is connected to a separate circuit from the
fan motor, in which case the red/blue/black & white striped wire would be
connected to a separate hot wire inside the fan canopy.
Hello ...what leads you believe its a bad capacitor? I would need a more detailed explanation...however if you want to just replace it as a process of elimanation you can get all types and variations of them at almost ALL appliance stores and outlets ...be sure to have EVERY detail and info from the one you are replacing or call ahead and take it with you also fan model serial and brand name with you ...a reply would be appreciated
Make sure that the fan was connected in the unit. If there is no manula control then you must check if the connection has come off in the dual assembly. Check the fan coils and the connecction to the starter capacitor. If open connect, if there is connection to the unit check for failure of the line.
yes, you can take the little,(cant remember what it is called) out of the circuit board in the fan itself, if you do it yourself please remember to turn the power off! if you know a electrician, hey should probably be able to tell you what it is that makes the beeping noise.
there are a couple of bolts that hold the housing on, after removing the blades you should see more mounting bolts that attach to the ceiling....fyi disconnect power First!
Here is what hunter technical support says about this.

How old is it? If it is more than a couple of years old, the motor windings for highest speed probably failed. They can not be repaired as cheaply as buying a new fan.

This must be a common problem, since I Googled the part number and it popped up before I completed the number. I am going to have to order a new remote, since I don't have a solder pen. Wish me luck.
