I think you will find the brush box is part of the main housing.

Check that the bed of the saw (the flat metal part on the bottom) isn't bent. I've had this sort of thing happen on a jigsaw that needed to be tapped back into square. Check the squareness of the saw with a framing square or a carpenter's square held against the blade and the bed of the saw with the blade guard open. Obviously, make sure the saw is unplugged before doing this.

If the motor still runs you might have a problem as simple as a loose blade bolt, missing flange or worse a gear/armature problem, if the motor quits then you have an electrical problem that would need to be diagnosed, get back to me with either one and I will try and help further.

you have a major electrical problem, unplug tool and remove the brushes to check their condition. Rotate the blade by hand and look for any unusual wear pattern or discoloration. This would indicate a failure and the appropriate parts would need to be replaced.

the gearcase for this saw is under the blade and you would have to remove the blade and the screws holding the gearcase cover in place. There is a small amount of GREASE in this cavity. If you want to replace the grease use a small amount of white lithium type grease. DO NOT pack this area full or you will cause more damage. Just join the two wires together if they work by providing current, or disconnect if they work by being open circuit. Microswitches are normally safety related so bypassing them is not recommended.
