Should I lubricate my fan to stop a grinding noise?
Most hunter fan don't require lubrication, if you hear a grinding noise I would check the balance of the fan, if your hearing a grinding, and its not caused by being out of balance, then I would replace fan

What to do if fan is frozen up
You need to put some Hunter oil then push the blades around by hand to get the bearings lubed. Then check oil level and add more oil if necessary.

When I turn on the ceiling fan on it trips the breaker.
If you have a volt ohm meter you can test, the fan/light itself to see if there is a short circuit from the hot wire to ground or to the neutral. If there is a light hook up do the same for it. You might want to try just the light or just the motor connections to eliminate the bad circuit or faulty wiring. In some homes you will find that you have 2 hot wires, one switched and one not switched so watch for that because you could be connecting 2 hot wires together which will trip a ckt. breaker. if you are sure that you have proper wiring not, skinned or anything and the motor does trip the breaker then you have your solution.

Broken power switch
Looks like you already found it, (23852), if you have a brown Original. Usually the labels are on the top of the motor housing. Also might be etched into the metal name plate on the side of the motor.

If the oil is OK then check to see if it has a capacitor that might be going bad.

Light blew on ceiling fan, now the entire fan
Many of the newer light bulbs won't screw all the way down so you have to stick your finger in the sockets and bend the bottom tab up so that the bulb will touch it. Most ceiling fan installs i find that people don't put the marrettes on correctly and the wires fall out after the fan is up.

Check/add oil to a hunter ceiling fan
If you are asking for instructions on checking and possibly adding oil to a Hunter Original fan. Here are instructions:
Check oil level immediately after filling the reservoir. To check oil, bend an ordinary pipe cleaner into a 1/2" long hook and dip it into the oil reservoir.
If oil touches the end of the pipe cleaner, the fan has ample oil. If it does not touch, add SAE 10 non-detergent oil slowly until it touches the pipe cleaner.
-Hunter Original fans rarely/ never need oil unless they were relocated or tipped. ...Or if the fan was improperly installed.
-Hunter sells an oil refill / oil level check kit with good instructions. They also sell a relocation kit that includes the same kit plus all mounting hardware needed.
Good Luck!
