Vertex Yaesu Radio FTH2009, FTH7009 Compatible Battery Questions & Answers
How do i get the channels to change on vx10 radio
The dial is probably locked. Look for a little padlock symbol on the display. Check the user manual for Dial or keyboard lock. Generally on Yaesu radios you use the function key plus a keyboard key. If the keyboard is labeled, you should see something that looks like a padlock next to the correct function key.
Vertex radio vx 10
Maybe with the drop the radio speake is out of place, did try to open the radio and find if the speaker is in its correct place? The speaker uses a spring connector and this can be out of place.
Good luck
My Vertex Standard VX-2200 display blinks continuously and when i press the ptt button it say error
Not enough power. The radio requires a steady 12 VDC input, or in a vehicle, 13.2 VDC. You did not mention if this is a 25 or 50 watt radio. I guess 50 watt. This occurs often when the wire is too thin for the amperage required. Get thick wire or the harness may not provide enough amps and it will get really, really hot! The wiring harness from Vertex is the best one. If you have checked all your wiring AND the power connections, it is less likely a programming error. Let us know!
Vertex 354, will not power on
Is it plugged in? Is not the server/plug that connects to your cable turned on? See if your power charger is turned on first. If it's not on, your machine might not be on either.
Vertex VX821E-G6-5 Unable to program. Creating Problem now.
The new radios not being able to be programmed from the "old" ones often happens. The new radios require the newest software and are not backwards compatible. The new configuration file was done with your existing software, right? You need the NEWEST version of the software and that will work. You can program the old radios from the new software. So, get the newest version, then do a new config file and program all the radios from that file. If this does not work, contact a Vertex radio dealer. They may need to do the factory reset and program the radios. My favorite dealer is Event Rental in Portland, OR.
I need a pin out for a Vertex 5500 Mobile Radio Accessory Jack.
I found this info at:

It's easier to read it there.
DSUB 25-P
Pin 13: TXDI
[Digital Input for DATA Communications]
TX Hi-speed Data Input Type (jumper JP2005).
Input level 800 mV/600 Ohms, Max.input 1.2V
Tx Low-speed Data input Type ( Jumper
JP2006). Input level 40 mV/600-Ohms
If the Jumper setting is "Low-speed Data" (JP2006
jumpered), this port is usable in the AUDIO
(300~3000 Hz) range.
If the jumper setting is "HI-speed Data" (JP2005
jumpered), this port is usable for 9600 bps DATA
communications, because the filter and limiter are
not engaged in the Audio line.
Pin 14: DC OUT
[13.4 V/5 V DC Output]
Switched 13.8V output for supplying power to
an accessory (jumper JP2008).
Switched and regulated DC 5.0V output for
supplying power to an accessory (jumper
JP2007).
Maximum output current is 200 mA
Pin 15: IGN
[Ignition Sense feature]
The VX-5500 may automatically be switched to
the STAND-BY mode when the vehicle's igni-tion
key is turned on.
Maximum current is 20 mA.
This feature is only enabled on transceivers con-
figured for Dual Deck operation.
Ignition 13.8V

Pin 17: RX DO
[Digital Output for DATA Communications]
RX Hi-speed Data Output Type (jumper
JP2003). output level 600 mV/10k Ohms
RX Low-speed Data Output Type (jumper
JP2004). output level 200 mV/600 Ohms
If the Jumper setting is "Low-speed Data" (JP2004
jumpered), this port is usable in the AUDIO
(300~3000 Hz) range.
If the jumper setting is "HI-speed Data" (JP2003
jumpered), this port is usable for 9600 bps DATA
communications, because the filter and limiter are
not engaged in the Audio line.
Pin 18: E
[GND]
Ground for all logic levels and power supply re-
turn.
Pins 19, 20, 21, & 22: DSUB 19, DSUB 20, DSUB 21
and DSUB 22
LOGIC level (+5V / 0V) output.
The logic output appears at these pins when the
front panel's PF key is turned on.
The possible programming features (use CE49)
are illustrated below.
If the HA feature is assigned to these ports, a cur-
rent amplifier must be connected between the
Horn circuit and the port.

PORT/HA PORT
Pin 23: EXT SQL
[Squelch Signal Output]
Open collector output. Max. sink current 10 mA.
A Signal is present (Squelch is open): Level High
No Signal is present (Squelch is closed): Open
When you connect the solder jumper on JP2002,
this port changes to PULL UP (5 V) output.
This status can be changed by CE49 programmer.
Pin 24: SP MUTE
[Speaker Mute Output]
Open collector output.
External Speaker mute on: Level High
External Speaker mute off: Open
Pin 25: E
[GND]
Chassis ground.
