If it is leaking near where the garden hose connects to the spool that the hose is stored upon then the 4 screws that hold the flange with the outlet for the garden hose has loosened and needs tightened up. If it cannot be tightened because the part the screws tighten in to are cracked/broken you can drill deeper hose and use longer screws/ or you can disassemble the reel and flip end for end as the reel halves are mirror images and there is second receiver for the flange with the out let for the hose.
