Roomba got stuck and now it won't go

Would it be that you wound up with someone else's problem and that is why they sold it at a garage sell?

Side brush will not stay on

The only way I can imagine the side brush not staying on is if the screw that holds it on is missing. Find a similar replacement screw. Did you get a package of replacement parts with your's? I did with mine, but I bought it many years ago now. While that brush is off, unwind all the thre4ad and hair that's wrapped in that section The brush will turn more easily without that all packed in there.

Why does irobot dock without cleaning room?

How long does it run before docking? One to two hours is normal. 2 minutes means your battery is dying and it's coming back for more power.

Why roomba clean for 2 minutes then returns to dock?

I suspect the battery is about dead. It keeps coming back for more power. Run it away from it's charger, force it to run until it dies. Put it onto it's charger and let it charge a long time (Solid green light). Then run it again till it dies and repeat. This will perhaps force the battery to develop a longer memory

Why does roomba keep docking?

It needs to recharge every time it docks. I would suggest that you let Roomba run out of the room where it's charger is. Then force it to run until it dies out. Then put it back onto it's charger.. I suspect that it's developed a memory (short) for charging and you need to force it to totally drain down, then charge for a good while. This should force it to develop a "Longer" memory. Works for me anyway.

Roomba 4210 won't start

  • Lift Roomba off the floor and place it in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle.
  • If Roomba did not resume cleaning, lift Roomba and turn it over.* Inspect the Side Wheels for dirt or obstructions.
  • Test the Side Wheels by pushing them in and out and making sure they rotate freely. Place Roomba in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle

    Brush cleaning, wheel thump

rchu is exactly right. No need for a complicated disassembly. If you have never pulled off those end bearings/caps, the hair may be very impacted, but removing it should solve the problem. The instructions will tell you by color (yellow for mine) which pieces come off for cleaning. Be sure to remove all such pieces. If the fit seems tight, it's probably because a lot of stuff got stuck in there. Be gentle but firm, and things the should come off will come off. Once you've cleaned all the pieces, the thumping should be gone.

    I have a Roomba 4200

Yes the docking station is bad, and don't connect the 24V directly to the battery, it will burn it up.There is resistors in the docking station that might have change values. The voltage should be just a little higher then the battery.

What battery do i need for roomba model 4210

Advanced Power System (APS) 3000 mAh NiMH Battery. You can buy directly from iRobot (Item Number: 17373) or on Amazon ($20 buck cheaper). Be sure and get the NMh battery and not NiCad . The old one is probably blue and the new one will be yellow. The new model will last almost twice as long. Please rate this answer by checking on the hands below.

I noticed my run time was getting shorter and

To extend Roomba's battery life and keep Roomba cleaning at peak performance: • Always keep Roomba plugged in when not in use. • Recharge Roomba as soon as possible. Waiting several days to recharge Roomba can damage the battery. • For storage off the charger, remove the battery from Roomba and store in a cool, dry place. • Blue or black batteries should be stored after Roomba has been used. • Yellow batteries should be stored after being fully charged.
16-Hour Refresh Charge If Roomba has been left off the charger for an extended period, Roomba will initiate a special 16-hour charge cycle. This extensive charge refreshes Roomba's battery and extends the battery life. While charging, Roomba's "Clean" button will pulse quickly. Note: For best results, do not interrupt this Refresh Charge.

The Roomba's batteries are made to be in constant use. It is more likely that the battery cells are dried up. You will need to replace the battery.

    After installing a new

Ok. What I would do is to disassemble the Roomba, clean both its wheels, Cleaning Head Module (including the gears) and the front bumper sensors. If after cleaning the front bumper sensors and same problem...you will need to replace the sensors. It's more than likely one or more of the IR LED are damaged.
