Ryan, it sounds like there is a power problem going on with the receiver. In most cases we would have to replace the equipment, though there are a few things we can try first.If the receiver is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, try bypassing that and connecting directly into the outlet. If it is already plugged into the outlet, try a different one if possible. Isanchezsusm,I understand overheating can be frustrating, and would be happy to help with this! The best option is to make sure the receiver is in a well ventilated area with adequate airflow. Kenneth,I would be happy to assist you in setting up multiple remotes to the same TV. To do this is a quick fix. If you want the remote to control the TV1, make sure the remote has a green '1' tab in the bottom. Once that is done, access the system information screen and program the remote to the listed remote address. The steps are the same with the TV2 remote, except make sure there is a blue '2' as the bottom tab. I have provided the steps to program the remote below!Addressing Remote to Receiver:1.) Go to System Info screen.2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the number pad on the remote.4.) Press the pound (#) button. 5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. 6.) Test the remote and see if it works.

Laurie Pearson,I can understand the concern. In most cases the battery cover should just slide off towards the bottom of the remote. There should be an indent in the cover where you can put your thumb. Press down on that and slide downward to get the cover off. Hello, German Quinchia!I would be happy to provide assistance on this. It sounds like the remote itself may need to be setup correctly. Since this is going to be the second TV, on the bottom of the remote, make sure there is a blue 2 at the bottom instead of a green 1. Once you have the blue 2 showing, try addressing the remote again.If the problem persists, remove the battery cover. Inside will be a switch. Make sure the switch is toggled to UHF rather than IR.
