Sounds like the control module is out -- cost about $100 (I am on my third). I got a "lifetime" warranty when buying my second one. If you are handy, you can replace it yourself. You can call Bosch to confirm this (I did). It mounts inside the door.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, " My dishwasher is very loud when filling "... the issue is likely with the inlet/water valve.

**To remedy this you will need to replace the valve, not surprising for Bosch unfortunately. First you can check it though if you have an ohm-meter or multi-meter by measuring across the two terminals on the coil. ( removing at least one of the wires first though ) It should simply have continuity, if it reads infinite, you need a new valve.**

This is what to look for..i.e.

As long as your model number is indeed SHU5302 series, this info below will be accurate.

I say not surprising because this part has been an issue for the B/S/H/ built machines in the past and as a result the original part number 189553 now substitutes to 425458. It usually retails for about $20 - $30USD at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

**Before attempting to repair the unit please turn off the power and the water supply to the dishwasher...safety first**

If you remove the lower kick plate/toe panel, you will see the inlet valve to your left...

Replacing it is pretty straight forward. Here`s how...

1) undo the water line.

2) the two #20 torx screws fastening it in place.

3) the feed tube to the machine at the back of the valve and swap it with the new one.

Once the new one is in you should be good to go.

Let me know if you need any further assistance, otherwise good luck.

Thanks for visiting FixYa.

Macmarkus :)

Pump motor would be where I would start. It could be something that has the impellers locked up so they wont turn or the motor could be bad

If your heat cycle is not coming on, which it sounds like it is not, then you may have a problem with the heating system. There is a well known issue with many of the Bosch dishwashers that use the (266746) control module. Basically, there is a relay (which is a kind of electro-mechanical switch) that is used to turn on the built-in heater. There is a solder joint on the main Printer Circuit Board (PCB) that allow electricity to flow to the heater, that joint often will melt away and burn the surrounding area of the PCB. This is most likely a design flaw and appears to occur at about the 4-5 year mark. One way you can test for this is to run the onboard diagnostics routine that is programmed into the firmware of the micro-controller (brain) of the dishwasher. The way to do so it to press and hold the (Scrub Wash & Delicate/Econo) buttons at he same time and then press the on/off power switch to the on position. The LED lights above both those buttons should begin to flash, when they do, press them both again and the diagnostics program will start. It is a multi-phase program that will run for quite a while. Once it finishes, if it is a heating problem, it will end with a number 2 code in the display. If this is so, then it very well maybe the solder-joint issue on the control module and it will need to be replaced. It runs $128.10 US directly from www.bosch-appliances.com. Good luck.

This may or may not be the issue: I have friends that bought a new dishwasher - I'm not certain, but I think it was a Bosch. They did have similar draining issues.

With their dishwasher, the installer did not follow directions properly. Yes, he'd "installed a million dishwashers", but was too self-confident to check the directions for something particular to this machine. There was something about the way one of the drain or supply hoses was supposed to loop around that was unique to installing this brand, and that ended up being the problem.

Make sure that your machine was installed properly in this regard, even if your installer says they know what they were doing. Call Bosch's customer service dept. if you have further questions.

one needs to take into concideration how long it takes for the water to enter the unit and how long it takes for the water to heat up.these factors will influence the running time. defective heater very common.

It appears that your model is probably SHEM63W52N/01 Bosch cunningly hide the heater inside the pump housing and sell the pump and heater as one unit! Having said that, the heater usually works or it doesn't. When it comes on is controlled by a control unit, another expensive part. I was looking for a relay, but there isn't one. The spray arms move by the water pressure making them spin. First of all I would remove them and check all the holes for blockages. Replace them and make sure they spin well by hand. If you are inclined, strip the pump and make sure is is clear of blockages and the impeller spins well. Check the continuity of the heater element. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/parts-for-bosch-shem63w52n-01.html ..
