My Bosch dishwasher stays running in the wash

A solution to this problem would be to sell me your dishwasher. The law firm for which I work is looking to acquire an old unrepaired Bosch SHU 33 dishwasher for some ongoing litigation. If you (or anyone else with this model Bosch) could send me some details regarding your dishwasher, you may be able simply to buy a whole new dishwasher. My email is JFraser -at- jshlawmi.com.

Thanks!

Bosch SHX33A: lights come on

Hi

The issue seems to be with the motor or the door latch assembly going bad and should be replaced. The washer won't start the cycle if motor is not working, as its filling with water so I believe that the door is fine and it is the motor that is causing this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My dishes have a film

The problem is hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product to solve this problem once and for all. It filters the water going into your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that leave those spots. It is very affordable and even has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look with this product.

Does not go thru all cycles

Hello again, Thank you for replying so soon. ( I hope I didn't double post this, but I was having some problem this morning so if I did, sorry ). Based on that information... The problem you're describing is unfortunately a common one with B/S/H/ built dishwasher's. ( if you look through the list on this site alone there are hundreds ) That includes Bosch, Thermador, Siemens, and Gaggenau. Here`s the most likely reason why it has detected the error... Even if your home water supply appears hot, it's not hot enough and must be heated by the dishwasher to insure a proper clean and dry. Most if not all manufacturer`s do this. When it comes to your Bosch dishwasher the problem likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is why it runs forever unless pressing the two buttons for "cancel". To repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s just running on & on because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled. **Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on their behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)** **Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher** Installing a new control will certainly remedy the problem as well but since it is typically around $170 and up just for the part, I am more likely to offer someone an alternative to buying new, hence my first reaction to mention this repair tidbit. The control is available at most brick & mortar appliance parts stores or on-line at vendors such as "repairclinic.com", "apwagner.com", "searspartsdirect.com" etc. part number is based on your specific model number so you`ll need to provide that. Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied. Good luck. macmarkus :)

My Bosh dishwasher now runs well past the 105

Hello, welcome to Fixya.

My Bosch dishwasher had been

Based on the symptoms, ie, dishwasher not being able to drain, it is likely there is a blockage somewhere in the system.

If you can remove the drain outlet of the dishwasher from the sink and try to run the dishwasher into a temporary outlet like the sink itself.

I do not have access to a user manual for your model, but I believe you can use the Cancel Drain function in some Bosch models to start a new cycle. Usually there are two buttons that have to be pressed for about 3 seconds. This will ensure you can start a new cycle to check if the unit is draining out.

Not sure if you have recently cleaned the drain filters etc. just in case.
please do drop a comment to say how it went.

Does not drain water out at end of cycle,

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Cycle runs too long

long cycle most likely a heater problem.. or thermo problem.. to check heat run a cycle open the door in the middle of the cycle. is a lot of steam coming out... the dishwasher has to get to 70c to advance...if it is hot .then you could have a thermo that is not telling the control to advance the thermo holds the the dishwasher until the temp reaches 70c before it will let it go into the next cycle...the thermo is under the dishwasher at the right side, white with two wires .. it screws into the tub...hope it helps it not let me know and I can help you more.

I had the same problem. The motor had to be replaced. For as much as we paid for this it has not lived up to the Bosch name. It's never been as quiet as other people talk about, and then the motor went out! It's only 2 years old.

No Power

First let me say that using parts of your body to test for mains electriciy is a VERY VERY bad idea. You are lucky you are not dead. Please do not touch live parts again, get a multimeter or a mains tester. If there is mains across the water valve then it should have opened (making a click sound), are you sure you turned the water outlet back on?
