Works on propane but not

Check at back of water heater where hydro wires go in to heater, there is usually a black switch on top or side of that box/cover that needs to be in proper position as well. I usually use a mirror so I can see for sure it's in the on position.

Electronic burner lights then goes out in a few seconds

I am not sure about your particular heater but the thermocouple on a full-size gas water heater is often the cause of a pilot failing. It is relatively inexpensive to change (or mine was). It is a simple metal tube with a wire that is located near the pilot to tell the burner that it is ok to come on because the pilot is lit.

I reinstalled my electric water heater after replacing a floor. That was four hours ago. Still no hot water and I hear water running like a washer is filling. What's wrong?

If you failed to turn off the breaker before you emptied the tank then the element had no water to cool it. It would have blown a hole in it. If it is ok by some miracle then try turning off the breaker and turning it on again. As for the sound it would only do that if there was a large vapour lock.

My Atwood GC10A-3E will come on the first time I

Sounds like some adjustments are needed. Air shutter for one, and ignitor/electrode. Have you by chance observed outside with cover open when it tries to re-light? My guess is that it is sparking/trying to ignite, but adjustments are needed for proper ignition. A good cleaning of burner tube, electrode, and proper adjustment of electrode & air mixture should cure your problem.

What Atwood water heater models will replace model GCH6A-9E?

Any 6 gal will fit in same cut-out (hole) . 12-5/8" H x 16-1/4" W x 17-5/8 deep. In order to move up to a 10 gal, you need to be able to cut hole a little bigger. 15-3/4" H x 16-1/4" W x 20-5/8" deep. Usually your depth will allow , and width is same, just a matter of whether you have room to make height bigger.

Will not ignite

gas valve will not turn on if the blower is not pushing air thru the combustion camber. There is a sail switch in there that has to be working to complete the circuit back to the gas valve. BE CAREFUL and ck for a bee or wasp nest in the exhaust pipe or back in the combustion camber.

I need to flush my Atwood L/P Gas water heater MPD 93756 I'm unable to locate where you add the vinegar. Can you advise!

Remove hot pipe connection, and flush out through drain valve.Or remove TP valve and flush out through drain valve.Connect small circulating pump to 5 gallon bucket with 2 gallons white vinegar like they do with tankless water heater, as shown following Bosch manual. And let run for 45 minutes.http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Bosch_Descaling-heat-exchanger.pdfWhite vinegar is safe for humans. If odor is the problem, use H2O2 hydrogen peroxide, and not bleach. Hydrogen peroxide is safe for humans and easy to flush out of water heater and pipes. While it can take weeks to get rid of bleach, which is caustic and toxic.
