Braun 8585 charger cleaner - not cleaning
you can try cleaning it with alchol and see if that helps it to become unplugged and able to clean your shaver again. It may also be some contacts that is on base where it contacts the shaver. If it still does not work, you will need to replace it . Look on ebay for one to replace with.
The cleaning Station for my 8995 goes through the
You can make sure you have a nearly empty old cart in your shaver cleaner base, and then run some rubbing alchol into shaver or even some mixed with some soap to help break down the oils in the stubble crud. If you can put some also in a spray bottle and use it to clean with a little force, that will help some.
The cleaner mechanism will not lock in place when
You can check the little catches that is made of stainless steel, and see if you can reshape them slightly to catch and lock the shaver again. Sometimes they can become a little out of shape/bent from pulling the shaver out of the cleaner base. You can try to use a screw driver to carefully push the spring catches back in shape.
The on/off slide mechanism doesn't work.
If you are good with fixing things you can take it apart and see if you can reposition the slider switch to original condition. The little rubber plugs or bumpers has screws under them for the case. You will need a decent small screw driver to remove these screws. Just remember how the parts fit together and when you get the screws out the case can be gently pried off. Again, you will have to know how it fits back together again, but it is not that hard to do. The slider is either worn, or popped loose from the body of shaver. You can look on ebay and find a replacement shaver for cheap.
Just bought braun 8585 electric shaver, return it
Did you insert a cartridge into the cleaning base? It needs that in order to work. Otherwise, try plugging the charger directly into the shaver. It should definitely charge the shaver, as long as the shaver is fine. Depending on the model, the charging indicator may be green or blue.

The side housing on Braun 8585 came loose at the top
How did this happen? Did you drop the shaver at some point? I've heard of the side parts popping off when dropped. Otherwise, it could be one of the plastic securing pins that holds it has broken off.
On the bottom is a small panel where the plug does through it. You can pry that off, which releases the side housing parts. Be careful prying that part off. Use a small screwdriver and a piece of rubber or cardboard to brace it so you don't scratch up the part. Hopefully the side part is intact and can just be repositioned. Good luck!

Braun 8585 series
I found that the hole that the blade slots into had become worn and the blade was wobbling about too much under the foil. To solve it I wrap a small piece of masking tape around the metal shaft that slots into the hole and then push the blade back firmly into the slot. This seems to result in the blade pushing more firmly against the underside of the foil and giving a shave like new again.
No close shaves
I've replace the cutting surfaces and the thing just won't cut.
Braun 8585 maintenance
Look at the bottom of the shaver where the AC cord plugs in. Carefully pry the small black piece of plastic out of the base. Once you have this out, the two chrome side pieces will fall off, and you can split the shaver in half to expose its inner workings.

Braun 9095cc shaver - can't deactivate the travel lock
I have the same travel lock problem with my series 5000. Also, I am having a similar problem with my other braun, the easy clean braun 5000, though it may still be intermittently used. I suspect that the travel lock problem is a braun common defect. After my braun razors die out, I'm finished with braun razors.
Braun Clean and Renew not working
I took the file on a nail clipper and turned the impeller inside the unit. Remove the cleaning fluid from the unit. Turn the unit upside down, On the part that sticks into the large hole of the fluid reservoir you'll see the impeller. Just turn it it enough to dislodge any whiskers and try it again. Worked for me. Good luck
