Braun Syncro 7526 Electric Shaver - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Shaver won't run without cord
Symptom would suggest batteries need replaced.
You will find compatible batteries at shaveroutlet.com. You will need two. See link below. http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-parts/shaver-replacement-battery-aa-nimh-p-108.html
Scroll down the page for a helpful disassebly video. For easier replacement, it is suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs
My 7526 won't clean cycle
It is probably plugged up at the base. Take the cartridge out and turn it upside down> next clean the openings with a cotton swab< it make take a while as it can get gummy> That should fix the problem

For temporary fix you can try this:--
1. a Piece of tape to hold the locking arm down works
2. for a more long term fix, drill a very small hole thru the locking arm when it is held down with tape, now put a small nail thru the hole and it holds down the arm.If used carefully, this will work.

I have had a Braun
The internal slider which turns the shaver on/off is broken:---
After you pry out the blue button. In the oval hole where the blue button was fitted you will see a thin metallic part (semi-circular shapes on each side); pull it out through the hole and the switch will be functional. But if its not turning off then its broken.
When the shaver is turned on with the main On/Off slider, a spring moves a small slider inside to make contact with two areas on the circuit board. The small internal slider is broke in half, so when the main On/Off slider is moved to the off position, only half of the internal slider moves. The other half with the electrical contacts is staying in place on the circuit board, allowing the shaver to still operate. But if its broken then you will have to re-solder this metallic part and it should contact the circuit board to turn on/off.If you are not able to solder it,just get the take the metallic part and shaver to local electronic appliance repair center or at any local tv repair center. They deal will soldering jobs.Just get that metallic part to its exact position. So it functions properly.

I have the same problem with my Braun 7570 as the Jan.8, 2008 writer about the 7526 or 7680 shaver. The blue button came off but the shaver still works
This button wears out or just fails with time, but is replaceable.
Braun 7526 Syncro Body Housing with Trimmer
$12.99, Fits Model: 7526, Type: 5493, Includes back case, front case with trimmer/switch, side grips and bottom 'plug', http://shaveroutlet.com/.
To disassemble the 7000 Series Braun shaver.
Disassembly of the 7000 Braun shaver is basically the same as the 8000 series Braun shaver listed below. The 7000 is actually easier to disassemble as the plastic is much thicker and the bottom socket cover pops right off as there are less tabs and they are bigger.
To disassemble the 8000 Braun Series shaver.
Remove the plastic cover on the bottom that covers the corded socket. Be careful, there are a total of two tabs on the short sides and four very small tabs on the long sides. I usedmy fingernail to create a space big enough to insert the corner of a credit card in the center of the long side opposite the blue light indicator, then gently removed the cover. Using a screwdriver could damage the plastic.
The two sides then pop off, they only fit on their respective side when replacing. Don't lose the two small black seals on the top of each side piece.
There are a total of four screws holding the body together. Remove the screws, using the proper flat blade or torx screwdriver. The shaver will then split into. You can then remove the the Motor Drive Unit and the separate circuit board with the batteries.
This would also be a good time to clean the goo buildup from around the shaver head.
Assembly is the reverse of above. The Motor Unit will only fit in one way, there is a flat side and a angular side. Be sure the pin for the trimmer is placed in its proper hole, or it won't extend.
