If i may understand your question, guess you are in of a manual, if am right, you can check manualsonline.com or manualnguide.com to search for a copy of your manual.

If it turns freely left and right, is possible that a small plastic arm inside is broken, which is the case in mine. Hopefully it could just slept out of the hole (the switcher), so you just have to unscrew the 4 big ant 2 smaller on the bottom to open it and try fix it. Good luck

General instructions: clean the basket-filter-screening of your Singer Juice Giant Model 774: First, unplug the juicer from the power source and disassemble it. Remove the pulp container and the juice jug. Locate the basket-filter-screening and gently twist it counterclockwise to remove it from the juicer. Rinse the basket-filter-screening under running water to remove any pulp or debris. Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away any remaining residue.
