I am looking to buy a A495H base Gigaset unit to work with my 3 unit A49H phone set
Most modern Gigaset units work together. I have a pair of gigaset 300 phones and three newer models, and a BT Diverse 2000 phone, all talking to the same DECT base station (a VOIP N300IP).

Siemens Profiset 3030 phone display and some keys do not work
You can try cleaning under the keys with electrical switch cleaner. However, for the display, you can only check the connections to it. Purchasing a defective specialist phone like this is not a good idea as the only people that can provide spares is the maker.
