I can't get the machine

This is usually caused by either a plugged siphon line or if you are using the high pressure tips (red, yellow, white or green) on the wand. Check that the siphon line doesn't have any debris or bugs in it. The only way the siphon hose will work is if you use the low pressure, black soap tip on the end of the wand. The other tips cause too much back pressure for the cleaning solutions to be picked up by the hose.

I have a Northstar Pressure

This sounds like a mixture problem, try adjusting the main jet. You can also test by applying choke, briefly when you start to spray.

Runs good but presser drops

Disassemble the water admittance valve and clean bore with a dowel and crocus cloth. Then replace O rings on the valve plunger. Lube lightly with plumber's grease and re-assemble.

How do I adjust the

The following link will give you great troubleshooting for all pressurewashers. http://www.pressurewasherservice.ca/serv02.htm

There are several way to increase pressure. Primary way is to turn the pressure regulator knob in the direction to increase tension on the spring. Pressure regulator is located on the pump (or very neer) and usually has a large spring. Sometimes the spring is hidden under a twist knob. If the adjuster seems to be already turned to max then you may need to just change the pressure tip. The tip/nozzle is actually where the pressure is created by restricting the flow of water thru a very small opening. Use a new tip of the same gpm flow that is required by your machine. 18 hp machine has potential for very high pressure and high gallons per minute. Use trouble shooting guide above for more information. Good luck
