Karcher PSI Electric Pressure Washer - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I can use my Karcher K3 jet wash as long as i hold trigger down
Most pressure washers have ball lock type fittings on the hose connections. What happens is the little steel balls get a bit of corrosion and do not lock the male fitting properly with the female coupling. Load up the fitting with some Oil or WD 40. Then connect and disconnect the fitting several times to losen up the balls and springs. Should the spring in the coupling break you will get the exact symptom your describing.
If the OIL / WD 40 does not do the trick then you may have to change out the quick disconnect coupling.

Dosent run after plugged in to power. motor seems to be frozen
Two potential problems, notwithstanding complete failure, faulty cord, faulty plug, faulty electrical outlet. All of the above need elimination before attempting the following:
1.) A faulty on/off switch. You will need a multimeter to test for continuity. Not a task for those not competent.
2.) Faulty control head which is not telling the motor to turn on. A valve is stuck in the head and the machine does not know that you want to use it.It thinks that you have triggered off and has stopped. Probably a job for a specialist. Definitely not a job to tackle without a spare parts breakdown.
Please, everyone.....
DO NOT MUCK AROUND WITH ELECTRICITY IF YOU ARE NOT COMPETENT.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE AN EARTH LEAKAGE DETECTOR BETWEEN YOU AND THE POWER SUPPLY
I left my electric karcher pressure washer it in
Is there a leak from the bottom ?
If so then there is a crack in the Manifold housing. A New Manifold Complete Replacement is approx. $61.03, can be purchased from Karcher.
If under 1 year old, and you can find a receipt, Karcher will replace the whole Pressure washer under warranty.
I need a bearing that
Bearings are standard, If you can remove the bearing, take it to any bearing supplier and they will give you the requires bearing. Specify that you want a 2RS bearing, one that has rubber seals on both sides of the race if the original one was not like this. (Look for signs like SKF, Fafnir, Timken, etc. There are also numerous Japanese and Chinese makes, but in a wet application, rather go for one of the others mentioned).
I am getting a buzzing
First thing you must check the machine with load, without load with water fed, and without load with no water fed. Then check the simpler cause. See if the cooler fan is hitting the casing.
If you check machine without pressure load and without water and still buzz...then the motor has a bearing fault or other fault.
The head of the pump can be removed from the motor. Carefull because as you remove you will have the springs of the pistons pushing out. Now under the pistons and complete head you find "Oil". Remove this oil and you find a thrust bearing. Remove bearing by hand and you see a plate..held by a screw(most cases). In my opinion I always send the motor to a winder, even for bearing replacement. But if you know how to replace damaged bearings..go ahead. One small thing..if you have a chance, try the motor on its own without the head( this is tecnician work)...if it still buzz..it is for sure the motor. Also it is wise to check the pistons at the head. If these are scratched or damaged and stuck...they will also have caused unnesessary load on the electric motor. When putting back all things together it is wise to replace all seals.

My P11897 washer pump runs until I connect the
Dear Davidandkath,
I am assuming that by feed hose you mean the water supply inlet. Well if you connect the water supply inlet and the gun is closed, then the machine will stop. This is normal. Now if you open the gun and the machine still stays dead...then the control valve that operates a micro switch is stuck in a position that leaves the micro switch off.
So you must open machine and see a spill valve(pressure control valve)...this will have a cap on it with a wire. This wire is feeding electricity to the micro switch. You can lubricate the spill valve, but myself I change with a new one. You must also check that the micro switch is OK. To open the outer cover there are screws which are normaly TORX ..T15 size. Another reason for the machine to stop dead is that the outlet hose is blocked or the wand( Gun ) is blocked.

Fulltech.
