How to change piston rod

The wrist pin that holds the piston to the connecting rod or the connecting rod that holds the piston to the crankshaft? If you mean the connecting rod you will have to replace the entire crankshaft which if that's the case the saw is not worth that kind of money imo If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/kelly_69a0cf1b13789df1

Replacefual lines

Just take apart the air cleaner and any other covers around the gas tank and carb. you will see the lines, remove one and notice how attached, if you can re-use clamp good, if not count how many needed, take line to ACE, Auto Zone, Discount Auto you get the picture, ask for and give them gas line and also ask for clamps needed. That's it.... any questions feel free to ask...

The first thing to change is the fuel filter. If it still wont run, most likley you will need to rebuild or replace the carb.

I have a poulin pro 220 chainsaw. I just replaced

Check and see if the fuel line is collapsing when you start. The wonderful gas that we have contains alcohol which deteriorates rubber. Gas lines and many carburetor parts are eaten up by this gas. When you go to start your saw it has enough to run but the suction from the carburetor collapses the fuel line, weakened from the alcohol, not allowing any more fuel to pass. When the suction stops, when the saw shut off, the fuel opens up again allowing you to start it again. I had this problem when the government forced this crappy gas on us in the late eighties and I had to carry extra spare parts for my saws because of these problems. Anyways enough ranting, try and change the fuel line and that would most likely be your problem. If it is an old saw it might have done damage to your carburetor and it will need a carburetor kit/rebuild which is not usually too expensive. Hope this helped.

There is no spark on spark plug on my chainsaw

I will start at the obvious and work from there.-When you check for spark was the spark plug touching the jug/head so the electrical charge could make its circuit. If it is not touching the metal on the head it will not spark.-Check the on/off switch to make sure it is in on or run position. Sometimes it looks on but gets hit when starting or was not pushed hard enough to be in the on position. -See if the wiring going to the on/off switch is cut or bare and is shorting out the switch.-Check to see if spark plug is good and clean. Dry it out if it is wet and clean it with sandpaper or steel wool to make sure the gap is is clean so there is nothing to prevent a good spark. I have had a small piece of carbon get caught in the gap and stop the saw. Or buy a new one if that one is old. The spark plug code number is on the side on the plug that you have. If that doesn't work.-Check the spark plug wire to make sure it is not cut or chaffed and is grounding, preventing the electrical charge from getting to the plug and make sure the wire is connected to the spark plug boot that holds the wire to the spark plug. Sometime the piece that holds onto the spark plug detaches from the wire. -Make sure the small piece that holds the spark plug to the spark plug boot is not loose or even missing. Leaving a gap between plug and boot. -Check the coil next. That is the small metal piece where the spark plug boot wire originates from. Turn the fly wheel and make sure the outside edge is clean so the coil gets its signal/charge when the piston is in the correct position to fire. -If you check all of those problems correctly and did not work, you probably need a new coil. You want to eliminate all the other possibilities I spoke of before because if you replace the coil, and that wasn't the problem, most shops will not take returns on electrical parts, once there out of the package. A piece of tape fix for a short becomes a $40+ fix. I have only worked with professional saws, which are made to take apart easily. If the coil or other parts are under the flywheel, you would have to remove flywheel with a flywheel puller and replace the coil. Sometimes this is best left to professionals because they have the tools. If you damage the flywheel or shaft it will cost more to repair than to purchase a new saw. I don't know how handy you are. Most shops have the electrical tools to check for shorts and dead coils quickly, so it is a quick fix if you do have to bring it to a shop. Hopes this helps.
