unhook any power source from the unit, if you can solder remove that part and take it to any radio shack , or place like that , who supplies electronic parts, and have them give you a suitable replacement , and re-install it,, be sure to check for board burns or bubbling in the line strips. this part is for one or more of the functions of your meter
I have a lighting contactor issue it's hooked up
the photocell needs a constant source of power on the black and white wires. you DO NOT switch these! The photocell goes through a self test each time the power is applied. if you need to install a load switch, put it in the RED wire line. See diagram for the ac contactor.

Will one of the newer sensors work in place of my 1457 sensor?

Safety sensors can only communicate with garage door openers from the same brand.
