DeLonghi BAR 140 Espresso Machine - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Noisy pump
Obviously, this unit has a warranty. Are you packing the coffee too tightly? Run the unit without any coffee and see if the vibration is still there. If it is, get it fixed. If not, modify what you're doing.
Hi,
I live in Israel.
get in an electrician that you believe to trade qualified and have him check the wiring insulation and installation
the RCD tripping can be a very small imbalance in the circuit , dead short or overload and not necessarily in the unit
it could be in a problem wire in the power lead
How much coffee to add
Hi,
I like my coffee pretty strong and I use 2/3 cup coffee to 10 cups of water...
You may be able to use 1/2 cup to 10 cups if you don't want it too strong...
You must experiment a bit as different coffees will vary also...

Ok light does not turn on
If this is a new unit, you should return it. If you don't have that option, you'll have to open it up and tighten some screws that hold the wires into their respective barrier strips. Delonghi often doesn't tighten them quite enough. The unit will sort of work. The problem may be finding all the screws to remove to get in and that some of them are 'tamper' style. It is also possible that the temp sensors are not fitted right or are defective. Good luck.

Delonghi Ecam 23.450S heating up please wait
'heating up please wait...' and that's it, suggests a fault with either a sensor or a control board... and in today's market, who could ever guess which?
I'm sorry this is far more philosophical than technical. I really hate to say this. Still, if any half-way modern appliance has given you 15 years' service, what more would you have expected?
Traditionally, you would have taken any faulty gizmo to a local repair expert, who would have fixed it for a charge greatly less than any replacement cost.
Today, it's almost inconceivable that the cost of even diagnosing, let alone fixing any fault would be comparable to the cost of replacing (whatever) with a new one.
The error code close door does not go off even if the service door was closed on DeLonghi Magnifica coffee machine
According to the De'Longhi UK website, the error message "Close Door" could be caused by two issues :
The brewing unit is not installed properly in the unit. You can try turning the unit off, remove and reinstall the brew unit, and then turn the unit back on to see if it reset itself.
The latch on the service door has coffee build up and is restricted from moving freely. Please clean the latch area and make sure the door closes.
If neither of these solutions work, you may need to contact DeLonghi support for further assistance.
