try scrubbing the bottom end of it with a soapy water solution the seem to scum over and that blocks the signal sometimes

If its under warranty, send it back. They will say you grounded it or hit log. If not, buy a new one. You can't fix them.

You cant change time since is gps controlled. All you can do is to choose correct time zone For example NY should be GMT -5 hrs

Remove the plug at the back and look for corrosion. Check you have power.

No, you need a new one. They are a sealed unit and not repairable.
