Coffee is not hot

Either you have a corroded electrical connection (probably in the plug) or an element is bad. Try cleaning both ends of the removeable plug until they are shiny.

Coffee is sooooooooooooo weak!

Had the same problem...the temp thermostat that tells it to turn off when it reaches the right temp is going out so it doesn't reach the right temp to brew the coffee. The only way to check it is to use a cooking thermometer(digital works best)and run the pot through a cycle but don't add any coffee. Once done, stir the water in the pot just enough to get an accurate temp reading. The temperature of the water should be at least 185 degrees. I don't have a solution for you, I just bought another one... waited till Kohl's put it on sale and used a coupon I received in the mail. Sorry :(

Will not keep coffee hot.

The problem is the keep warm element. The reason, your pot perc's and it gets hot near the thermo, the thermo turns off the main element. The keep warm element is not on so after a small amount of time the water cools and the thermo turns the main element back on again, thus making the water hot. The K W element is supposed to be on all the time the pot is plugged in, it is instrumental in perking the first brew making it really hot, the thermo turns off the main element and the K W element keeps the water hot. The K M element is very a easy fix, it is the small looking white rope that runs around the bottom of the pot. You have 1-nut and 1- screw to remove. When removing the screw from the main element you must hold the (leg) that the K M element is screwed to so it does not bend and brake off. Take your time and be firm with the pressure you apply to the screw, while holding it with a pliers. Part is 8.00 plus 2.00 S/H. bobbyone

Cord heats up electric percolator when it makes

It is not unusual for this to happen - particularly near the ends (the plug end and the coffee pot end). This happens due to one or more of the following: at the coffee pot end the heating element inside the pot is actually transferring to the cord connector and the cord, where it is exposed to room temperature air and is cooled down. The cord shouldn't be warm more than a couple inches from the end. At the outlet end and the pot end: can be caused by weakened contacts inside the outlet itself. Repeated plugging and unplugging cords during an outlet's normal service eventually causes the spring of the contact metal to fatigue. The weakened contacts do not "grip" the prongs of the plug, so the power needed by the pot has less area to pass between the outlet and the prongs of the plug. You only notice it on the high power devices such as toasters, hair dryers, etc.

You might consider replacing the outlet and seeing if the problem is reduced or goes away. In the case of the pot, the spring metal contacts are usually in the cord connector. Replacement of the cord should solve the heat problem in this case.

Please take a moment to rate this advice is you found it helpful. Thanks - and good luck!
