Problem with map
The map you have loaded in you TomTom Go 520 was not indented to be used with this device or you have not acquired the right to use it with the device. Check with the place whence you got it.

Possibly from leaving the gps charging too long the battery may not be able to hold a charge. Best suggestion would be to always use with car charger when you travel with it.

The difference in capacity between 1320mAh and 1300mAh is minor (we are talking about a 1,6% difference, this is below production variance anyway). If the voltage and battery type is the same and the new battery fits inside your device, there will be no problem.
Note, the 1300mAh is the capacity of the battery (how much energy it can store). The main information this value gives is how long a device can work without the battery needing a recharge. You need to be concerned only about the output voltage of the battery (measured in Volts, abbreviated V, and the chemistry type of battery like NiMH, LiIon, LiPo, NiCd). The voltage should match the original so that your GPS device works properly without getting fried or underpowered; the chemistry type must match so the battery and the charging electronics do not get damaged when the external charger is connected.

sound over own car stereo and lets not forget Best hands-free calling> Best guess is that your computer is finding and trying to connect to the blue tooth connection since Toshiba has blue tooth capabilities, also you could be losing the wifi signal just because the FM transmitter is overpowering the the wifi signal. If i had to guess though i would go for the blue tooth connection as being the problem. Hope this helps
Will not start and main lead probs
GPS devices often won't start at all if the battery is too low and need a full charge before you can see anything happen. Try it again once making sure you have leads that can charge it.
How do I rreinstall my maps and indeed my
Did you install and use TomTom Home program on your PC? Did you backup you 520? If you did you can restore the contents.
If not you can reinstall the Navigator Application from TomTom by using update in the TTHome program. Unfortunately It will not give you a map, you will have to ask TomTom if they will help you or if not buy a new copy. If the unit is fairly new you are entitled to an update but that may have passed. If you want to spend some time it is possible to download a pirate copy but it needs to be cracked and files updated. A good site is the IPMART forum
How do i get drivers for my tom tom 520 go as my
you have to use atleast windows xp sp2 and the drivers will load automatically. you can also use windows vista or a mac (not sure of version for macs) if you are using one of those operating systems and still can get your tomtom to hook up, try a different usb slot. reboot your pc if your sure you have met the os requirement.bill
Does voice switch off if battery power is low as
Yes you will lose the voice instructions and it will eventually shut down. If battery does not hold charge for any length of time either keep the charger connected in the car or if you need battery operation, replace battery but this requires some disassembly (1300mAhr Lithium about £10 on EBay)
Cannot turn on my tomtom 520

Tom Tom Go 520 Wont connect via USB
It sounds like your mini usb connector is damaged. If you're handy you can buy a replacement and solder it in. You will need a very fine tip soldering iron and a magnifying glass. The repair can be quite challenging as the components are surface mounted.
Otherwise I can fix it for you for a small fee.
I've repaired about 20 tomtom units with similar problems. I charge around £35 for this including return postage
