Is the battery dead? Try it with the external power attached, see what happens. If still no go check the fuse in the end of the car charger, it may have blown.

Do you have custom POI's loaded that are set up for Speed/Red Light cameras? As far as I am concerned, the 1440 does not alert to speed cams out of box...

There should be an icon, at the top of the screen, indicating when the battery is low. A portion of the battery means, less than fully charged.

make sure it is installed. you probably only installed the lower 49 states. also BC is in Canada. if it is a Nuvi 40 or 50 you may have bought a lower 49 states device by that A-hole bestbuy agent swearing that it really does have canada just to make the sale.

I assume you are talking about a VivoFit. it automatically reset overnight. if it is not, be sure to sync it up with Garmin Express to make sure it has all software up to date. otherwise call Gamrin for a replacement

try powering the unit on while holding the bottom right of the screen. this should allow you to choose what language as part of a master reset.

on the "Where to" screen look for "near" or "searching Near", press on that and you can choose a different search location. otherwise you may have the wrong region installed. use Garmin Express to change coverage regions

get a memory card 4-8 GB and change coverage through Garmin Express. Then you can fit both. otherwise flip back and forth in Garmin Express.

don't bother, just make sure that both are updated and get an SD card so there is enough room for both.

There are two types of lock... one to prevent the screen from being used while driving. the other as a theft deterrent. both can be changed in the settings

you bought a stolen device and the code was locked by the previous owner. The only way to get the code unlocked without knowing it is to take it back to where the code was set (previous owner?) then it will let you unlock without the code. Otherwise you bought a paperweight.
