the Garmin 765T does not have a speed dial option.

If you put a new battery in it, it sounds like your charger cable has a short in it.

While the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries inside the GPS can operate in a fairly wide temperature range, leaving the battery out in anything less than -10 weather will render the battery inoperable. Unfortunately your battery has probably been exposed to a lower temperature, and therefore will no longer take a charge. You will have to replace the battery. Depending on the retail source that you bought it from you should be able to purchase a replacement unit from them. On a side note, lithium batteries normally have a 3 year lifespan, and you would have to replace after that time-frame.

Hi, this may be result of errors in both hardware concept and respective operation system software. if you have any warranty time, then try to hand over that in order to collect new one. have fine as early

make sure your unit is Off before you connect to computer

Nope you cant reset the unit.....

All Garmins are registered with Garmin for the reason of if ever lost the unit would have to be unlocked by the rightful owner... the Serial number is located on the bottom of unit in the middle

Beware if the unit was ever turned on remember its a GPS they can find you quicker than you finding them

Be that nice guy and give Garmin a call and they can tell by the serial number who the owner is....

Its an expensive unit with good security

Try taking the battery out and replacing it a few swconds later, power up the unit and you might see a difference.

Garmin only allows you one free update for your GPS as long as you download and install it within 60 days after you purchase your unit. If you have tried to download any updates after your 1 free update without paying the update fee you would get the error you have mentioned. If this is your first update, or you have paid for it, and you are getting the error, the map has become corrupted. You'll have to contact Garmin's support and they will have to supply you with a code to use to unlock the map.

Do this by pressing and holding the bottom right corner of the screen while powering up the unit. Hold the corner of the screen until the message window "Do you really want to erase all user data?" pops up and proceed with your choice.
Then reenter info

This is likely a failed battery.
The battery on these units is not user-replaceable (soldered to the PCB) and must be returned to Garmin for repair.

Very simple: connect the cable that came with the GPS: USB end to computer, mini USB to the GPS. When the unit is charging, the battery icon will disappear.

Unfortunately, Garmin did not think you would want to know the percentage of charge completed (they confirmed it to me in email), so you have to guess that after 2-4 hours your GPS is fully charged.

if you switch it off when conected it should show very faint "charging"message in screen

after you do that, go HERE and download and install the web updater and follow the instructions.

I had the same problem too. To fix it, you need to recalibrate the screen. See instructions HERE

Connect the GPS to a computer via supplied USB cable and:

1. The GPS will be recognized as a new drive. If a pop-up appears choose "Open Folder To View Files." If not, click the "Start" button, then go to "My Computer." The double click on the new drive.
   
2. When the hard drive opens, locate and open the MP3. There will probably be a couple of sample songs, you can delete them to free up additional space if desired
   
3. Simply select and delete existing MP3s in the directory. Alternately, you can drag and drop MP3s into the directory to add them.
