When i turn on my camera i get a e24 on the screen

In one of my canon manuals is says about E.. (see the little dots)Camera malfunctioned. Turn off the power and turn on again, then re-shoot or play back. If the same message recurs frequentely, the camera may be damaged. Note down the error number [xx] and take the camera to a custumer support help desk. If this message happens immeadiately after you have taken a shot, the camera may not have shot the picture. Switch to play back mode and check whether the image was actually recorded.Sorry if I can't help you more, but Canon does not give more information.

I removed my SD card

Dont worry, a good SD card recovery program can help you. you can recover your images from SD card with asoftech photo recovery program. You can seehttp://www.asoftech.com/apr/It tells the steps how to perform picture recovery. If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

USB port not working

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

We used to have a cable to download pictures on a computer, but we lost it. We then downloaded them with the memory card but the previous photos are not recognised

It should be a mini USB connector to a USB cable. Most cell phones now come with this cable so you may have another that works. I know that a good day of garage sales would turn up a compatible cable for you as well. As far as from the memory card side of it. Try inserting the memory card in your computer directly, I cannot tell from your description if this is what you did. The other think is to go to a Kiosk at Walmart, Walgreens, Target or wherever with your memory card and see if theirs will pull up your files and have them transferred to CD.

Card locked

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

SA1000 IS Display Black. Pictures not

Welcome to FixYa.

The battery might be worn out. Replace it with a new one. If you are using a rechargeable battery, make sure that it is fully charged and the battery can hold that much charge.

My shutter button on my Canon A1000 came off in 2 pieces I see 1 for sale on Ebay r theswe shutter buttons replaceable easily?

Just asking, but how did it 'come off' in two pieces? In my experience, I've also ruined my Canon shutter, but I found out that it was stuck, so it couldn't open all of the way. To do that, you should carefully stick something thin inside, and move it around. (The 'thin' thing may also be your nail, if you're careful!) If that didn't work, than you should call Canon, your manufacturer, and ask for help. They'd most likely look at it, and you should send it to them, for further assistance. In any case, I hope you choose NOT to buy the shutter, because in my experience, it will be very difficult trying to take your own shutter out, and putting a new one in. In all of that, you'll have a very difficult time doing that, and it'd probably be a waste of money, because you can also ruin the new shutter too. Hope this helps!
