Hi,
you need to use the driver for win 7. If you have already installed the software using the installation cd, you need to uninstall it first before using the win 7 driver by going to start menu > programs > lexmark 5600 series > tools> uninstall. Then reboot pc. Check the version of your operating system. Right-click on My Computer and choose properties to see if you have a 64-bit or 32-bit OS. Download the proper driver package by going to this link:
http://bit.ly/cclHPL . download cj5600Win7en64.exe is for 64-bit OS. or download cj5600Win7en32.exe for 32-bit OS. install the sw and try scanning again. Hope this helps.
I have refill catrige and now he don't recognize
this is a common problem with refilled or remanufactured cartridges. I would recommend sticking to official cartridges.
You can test this solution by buying a new cartridge to replace the one you refilled and you will see that the cartridge is recognized and works fine.

Do NOT put up with that take it back, and make them show you it working? I guess for some that's a problem? but one has little choice, that should NOT be happening. Either that or you could contact Lexmark, they have a help service. They could at least indicate if you are doing anything wrong or it is the unit, which I suspect it is... You are putting the paper in OK, and are "Fanning" the paper before you put it in the tray? As these are common causes of jamming up. Also make sure nothing is still inside & no bits of tape are still stuck on somewhere etc.

There u will see a icon which says DVD RW lexmark 5600 u need to right click on it and click on explore and then click on Abby and run the setup.exe file and then try to scan it will work fine................

I have installed and re-installed the cartridges
Disconnect printer. Remove drives and uninstall printer. Power down printer and restart computer. Reinstall drives from Lexmark website. Make sure that cartridges are securely placed in holders prior to powering up printer. Power up printer and reconnect to computer.

Hello, unfortunately it soound like a repair man job. Unless you can pull your printer apart yourself, I dont advise trying this unless you know how to. Once the paper has woung itself around the role it is hard to remove, sometime if you have a long pair of strong tweezers you can tear a strip of paper off lenghways. You can then put oour printer through the clean mode and as the machine turns the roler it will free the paper enough to get it out. I hope this is helpful.
