Epson Stylus DX8400 All-In-One InkJet Printer Questions & Answers
Epson Stylus DX8400 see below
I have an Epson XP range machine which, on occasions, has similar hiccups (once per year) but time and patience seems to 'heal' which is not ideal when you need something urgently but I try to remind myself that being able to print at home inexpensively has its annoyances
Epson DX8400: how can i get it to print black only
Sorry Desperate. All inkjet printers, from all companies, are programed to only operate with ink in all containers to avoid other problems. Their is no workaround. Please rate me not harshly just because you don't like the answer. Rate based upon the truth of an answer.
Printing in just black and white
Epson,. has it rigged, that you must have ink in all the cartridges.............! Doesnt make a difference, if you are printing black and white ONLY.
You have to replace them.
Good Luck......
Is the scanner light failing?
You're probably right.
If it's four years old, would a replacement be more or less than you'd expect to pay for the repair?
My printer is not recognising the replacement ink cartridge although I've used these before many times
If you have just installed a new cartridge and you still see an ink related error, the cartridge may be incorrectly installed. Follow these steps to make sure the cartridges are correctly installed:
- Make sure the Epson Stylus is turned on.
- Do one of the following:
- If your printer indicates that an ink cartridge is expended, press OK.
- If your printer does not indicate that any ink cartridge is expended, press Setup, select Maintenace, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK.
- Open the scanner.
- Open the cartridge cover.
Caution:
Never attempt to open the cartridge cover while the print head is moving; wait until the cartridges have moved to the replacement position.
To avoid damaging the Epson Stylus, never move the print head by hand.
- Press down all the ink cartridges until they click into place to make sure they are properly seated.
Note:
If a cartridge is properly seated already, you may not hear a click.
- Close the cartridge cover and press it until it clicks into place.
- Close the scanner.
- Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes.
You see a message on the display screen when ink charging is finished.
Caution:
Never turn off the Epson Stylus while the ink is charging or you'll waste ink.
If the issue persists, it appears to be an issue with the cartridge(s). Contact Epson for further assistance.
