I had the same problem. According to HP, their printers are very picky when it comes to power. (no battery back up, power strips, etc...) I had my printer plugged into my UPS. I unplugged it from the UPS and plugged it back in directly into and outlet. The silence while printing was blissful.

Had the same error. Turned out the pdf I wanted to print had an empty page. When I removed it, the error disappeared and I could print the document.

I had the same problem. The source of this problem, the USB printer port is broken, then I use network configuretion. The poblem is solve.

I believe that the P2055 has an imbedded jetdirect.You would have to change the formatter.That could run into some money.Is it still under warranty? Let HP do it.

There is not a Native Windows 98 driver for the P2055DN. You can try installing the 2000 or XP driver and see if it will allow it. I have included the download location below.

Replace the tooner with origional Hp your problem will be resolved.

1.check the back cover is open and the green levers are down.
2.open the front cover remove the cartridge ,you can see a green lever ,just lift it up and see any paper pieces are there.
