Unfortunately this is a very old model and when the Printhead stops firing ink, you cannot repair it. Better buy the new MFCJ470DW which is the 4th Generation of your machine and not expensive but very good machine

Check for any small piece of paper, or metal clip inside where the sensor is. Check also if any of the 2 Hinges is broken because on the left side under the bed there is a small black button which is the sensor of the position. Otherwise there maybe an electronic problem
