Lexmark X4550 Multifunction Wireless Color Inkjet Printer - Page 3 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

There is a sticker or piece of paper inside the printer. TO fix this, some parts needs to be removed so the foreign object obstructing the paper path can be removed from the printer.

With the power cord still plugged in to the power source, unplug the power supply (the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached) from the printer. Give it 10-15 seconds before you plug it back in. If the printer won't power on automatically, press the Power button. If that won't do it, plug printer straight to a known working power outlet in the wall without using any power strips/extensions. Make sure power cord has no physical defects and properly secure it to the power supply. If still that won't do it, try to contact Lexmark. You might have a defective printer already. I hope that your printer is still within warranty. If not, I hope Lexmark will be kind enough to replace that for you.

Try uninstalling and installing the drivers again making sure you PC is talking to the printer correctly. See if this helps. Try to setup the printer from scratch.

no its not possible, either reorder a disc for the printer again, or try searching its online driver on the lexmark website, or go for 4shared.com,isohunt.com.

Hello, If you RESET your router, you bring it to a Default State. That basically means that your password and other settings no longer exist. you need to go through the Linksys Setup Process again and configure your Lexmark to the New Settings as well. GOOD LUCK!! Lucky4lynn2

The scan software might not be installed properly in the computer. Try to run the installation cd in your computer again. If you have already used the installation cd in the computer, running it again should give you three options - Install a printer, Update/Upgrade or Install additional softwares. Choose Install Additional Softwares. In
the next page, place a check mark in Abby FineReader OCR software. Continue and finish the installation. Also, check your
firewall and make sure to allow all Lexmark communications to go
through. Try scanning again. Hope this helps.

you have to choose in the software that yu use for seting the format in what you want it to scan ..if it only scan photo like ..it means that it is set to scan as jpeg ...change them on the format u need..from the options before scanning ..
anyway ..Im not sure it has such a feature...but if you say that it use to do that ..I guess it has to be ...be sure that u used the same software before..and didnt had another software to manage the scans..
another thing to try is to ..insert the document in the scaner ..and try to import from scanner into the word directly ..if it has such a feature ..

You need a program that you can use on your PC with this program you scan it to your PC and then print it out, ok you need a program like art or photo or paint or some thing like this that have a scan in it.

The best program to put on your Pc is what I use and it is Free you, it is called PagePluse SE, you should try it you can do all sort of things with it but there no scan on it, just scan your photos to the your pc with another program witch has scan on it and put them in the SE program and you can do any size you wont and after adding text to it or backgrounds you can send it to the printer and print, an other program I use for scanning from the printer to the PC is called PainShop Pro 7 witch is a old program there newer ones out now but I am happy just using the old one it does the trick.

The Free version is Called PagePluse SE you not need the version 9.

Hi You can download a driver Software from my website then you can use the driver to set your printer up.
Just click on this link and it will download for you, and it is best to save it on your desktop so you can find it.
This is for the Lexmark X4550 Printer and will work for Win and XP and Vista

Leave the USB lead out when you are installing the software and as it is installing it will ask you when to put thyou to put it in

better check your printer manual that if it work on windows 7 otherwise it wont work, better download a new driver software for your printer from the manufatures website. and you have to specify Windows 7 32 bit. it will work.

I have the same problem with the same two products ... and I use a Mac. D-Link says it's the printer and Lexmark wants to charge $3.99 per tech support call ... when the deign to provide tech support at all (dramatically limited hours). Solution: Throw the printer away and start again.

1. If you have cable internet you won't ever have a dial tone.
2. If the printer is a wireless one then you need a wireless connection from the PC. Since these are flaky at the best of times get a USB cable and connect the printer to the PC through that. There is no point connecting the printer to a cable box even if you could, because the printer wouldn't understand the signals coming from it. They have to come from a PC.
