Try the following: take an A4 sheet of paper and glue a 2 - inch strip of sanding paper onto the top of the sheet (full width of the page). sanding paper should be about 120 grain. Now feed the page with the sand paper first (rough surface on top) into the paper inlet. grab and hold the paper, then press paper feed or send a print job. The printer tries to feed you special sheet, but you won't let go. This will sand off the gunk from you feed rollers and give a bit of rough surface to the rubber. Repeat if needed, it should cure the problem. This works if the problem is the roller surface, it will not fix a problem with misalignment or a missing/broken spring in the feed roller mechanism. regards, the perfessa

These printers monitor the cartridges and dont like you using aftermarket ie non Lexmark, or not made by lexmark cartridges. So Im wondering If you have tried 2 x brand spanking new OEM Lexmark cartridges, or if you are trying to use cheaper from net remanufactured or "for use in lexmark" cartridges. If this is the case then this is your problem and also very common.Are you using a photo cartridge and a normal color one? These I beleive can not be mixed in different slots.- Photo cartridges you will only need one installed on the left side.- Normal ink you will need two installed (Black on left and color on right) .Also Lexmark themselves have a couple of documents on this issue, here and HereBut these efforts will all be useless unless you are using Brand New Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) Cartridges. This I see day in and day out, I get a lot of people tell me they are using original when they are not in fact, You will know by the price and lexmark carts do not state "for use in"I dont think it is a problem with the printer, if you are using both brand new OEM cartridges then the firmware fix from lexmark should solve or you are trying to mix Photo type and normal type carts.But these days ink jet printers are non repairable (well too costly and uneconomical to repair) throw away items, the expense is in the inks and manufactures vertually give away the printers so you will buy their inks, and lexmarks are designed not to like refill and aftermarket inks as are most modern inkjets.Hope this helps, please let me know if you are using real ink and have tried the firmware fix and still are having issues, but all i probally end up telling you is buy another and welcome to our disposable way of life;)RegardsSteve

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
4. Reboot computer.
5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

All you need to do is to remove the printer currently added on your daughter's laptop(most likely it is the printer installed on your laptop)and then add the lexmark printer manually on your daughters laptop. Make sure when you do this your laptop is turned off. If this won't work, that means that the laptop of your daughter does not detect the wireless printer.

try reinstalling the drivers and application software. this should releave the issue. if it does perists it is a hardware issue, in this case you will have t bring it to a Lexmark authorised service centre
