The driver from the Lexmark website might not include the fax software. Did you try to use the Lexmark X5070 install disc to install the software?

To be able to print PDF file, scan PDF file and send fax PDF file, you need to install a Adobe PDF printer as requirement.

Try to download and install this PDF printer driver in your computer. No need to set it as default printer.

What if you turn it Off and turn back On again? Any changes or the problem still persists? If the problem persists, it must be power supply unit or the processing might have been gone bad. Let me know.

I would try powering down the printer; turn off, unplug from the power supply, let rest for 5 - 10 minutes then pllug back in to power supply. Turn on printer and see if that resolves issue.

I would then check to make sure I had the most current driver for my operating syste. If not, uninstall your printer driver, download the new driver from the following website and install:

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

Carol, All such notices have the following options: 1. Register, 2. Register later, 3. Do not register. Or words to that effect. Select #3, Do not Register.

It seems simple enough, but this is one of the most effective ways of fixing printer cartridge error. Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.

To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :

turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.

Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.

Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

your printer has sensor problem. plz take it for servicing

Launch "Printer Solution Center." You should have installed this program when you installed your Lexmark printer. Click on the Start button and selecting "All Programs." The menu command or shortcut for this program is located under the "Lexmark" folder. Click on it. If you do not see this program for some reason, insert the installation CD (provided in the printer box) into the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the program.

Step 2
Click on the tab that says "Maintenance" on the top menu.

Step 3
Click on the button titled "Install a new printer cartridge."

Step 4
Hit "Next" to launch "Print the Alignment page" window.

Step 5
Hit the "Print" button. This will reset your ink cartridges. You should be able to see a correct reading of the ink levels on your Lexmark printer.

Step 6
Repeat this process until you successfully reset the ink cartridges. Sometimes, it may require multiple attempts to complete this task

Resetting a Lexmark printer
You will firstly need to switch off your printer. Then simultaneously press the RETURN and READY keys while switching the printer on. This will take you to the Diagnostics Mode. The display unit will show the message 'Performing self test'. Choose 'Maintenance count'. Reset the count to make it zero. Then select the RETURN key and go back Diagnostics Mode. Then you can reset the printer to go back to the normal mode.

To turn off the ringer on the Lexmark X5070, go to Fax Mode then press Menu > use the arrows, choose Fax Setup then hit check > use arrows, choose Ringing and Answering then hit check > use arrows, choose Ringing Volume then hit check > use arrows, choose Off then hit check. To re-enable the volume, follow the same path. Hope this helps.

Make sure the Fax Mode button is not stuck in the printer. If not, unplug the power supply of the printer. The power supply is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Then, hold down Start and Cancel buttons at the same time while plugging back the power supply in the printer. Hold down the two buttons firmly while the printer is powering on until Language Selection appears on the LCD screen. Then, release the two buttons. Choose your preferred language. Set your printer like how you set it the first time. If this doesn't help, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

Not sure but if you go into the add and remove in your pc it might be in there just remove that part of it, but be careful not to delete your driver.

Make sure the scan software is already installed in the computer. If not installed yet, insert the installation cd in your computer to install the software.
