By default, the printers are set to take an assigned IP address from your DHCP server (or router) on your network. Connect it via the Ethernet port, then access the GUI for your server (or router) and check your connected devices - the MAC address for the Magicard printer will be presented there, along with the IP address that was assigned by the server (router).
Once you have the MAC address, you can then use "address reservation" features to ensure that a specific IP address is assigned to that device each time it is connected.
Cam motor or sensor fault.

Sorry to hear that you are getting a CAM mis-position error 09:00 / 09:01.
Please check the following;
Open and close the lid. Listen very carefully. Can you hear a motor running for a few seconds and then stopping?
It may be a simple belt / pulley issue.

Hello Amy,Is it possible for you to attach either a digital scan, or a photo of the printer's internal test card (press and release the small test button on the back of the printer)? This may give some clues as to the cause.Regards,MC.

I'd suggest cleaning the rollers. The rollers in the printer should be cleaned EVERY time the dye-film ribbon is
changed.
You also may need to clean the printhead.

Magicard Rio Pro printing too dark
Reset the driver to all default settings and see if that changes behavior. This should be checked both at the Windows default settings for the driver, and also check through the printer-properties accessible from your badge-printing software.
Check your power-supply to be sure it's the one that came with the printer - improper voltage/amperage can cause dark or light printer, depending on what you have vs. should-have.
Make sure you're using genuine Magicard MA300YMCKO ribbon - there are sometimes knock-offs infiltrating the market through non-dealer channels - particularly on 3rd-party marketplace sites. Get one from a source known to be an authorized dealer to be sure you have the real thing.
If it is still printing dark after the above are all checked, contact a dealer for service options. If in the USA, we'd be happy to assist.

Magicard Enduro+ printer error message prompt "Wrong Dye file, error 31:01, see your dealer supplier. I have original dye films.
That error can be caused by several conditions.
1. Make sure the printer driver is set properly for the ribbon type you're using. For example, if you have a MA100YMCKO ribbon, make sure the driver is set for it, rather than the MA1000K or MA250YMCKOK ribbon. NOTE - you must have Windows admin privileges to be able to adjust driver settings.
2. Make sure you're using a compatible ribbon type. Magicard makes many ribbon types, and they're not always compatible across all printers. Make sure the ribbon you have IS specified for the Enduro+ printer.
3. Update your firmware. All ribbons contain an RFID tag that informs the printer of the ribbon type, print-count, manufacturing site, lot-number, etc. If you have old firmware, it may not properly recognize the ribbon, resulting in this error condition.
4. Try an alternate ribbon. On very rare occasion, one of the ribbon RFID tags is missing or corrupted. The likelihood of 2 separate ribbons having the same issue is very small.
5. The printer may have a bad RFID-tag reader/sensor, which would have to be replaced by an authorized service center.

Error code 24:08
Hi There,
The most common reason for General Error 24:08;
Hand Feed Mode is ON. (only time this error is shown)
The printer expects the card to be fed from the manual card feed slot at the front of the printer.
If the card is 'manually' fed from the rear of the printer (with the rear card hopper removed), then this error message will be displayed.

I would like to have a Magicard Opera refurbished. Where could I send it?

Sorry for the delay in replying to your request.
The Opera is quite an old printer model now.
It may not be economically viable to have it serviced.
However, if you have a specific problem with the printer let me know.
It may be something very simple that you could deal with yourself.
There are some common faults with very easy fixes.

Enduro printer problems
Hello gkutlenios,This solution is probably way too late for you, but maybe it will help others with the same problem.A thin White line (or sometimes lines) running along the long axis of the card, and always in exactly the same place would indicate that the printhead has damaged element(s). This is almost always caused by physical damage due to contamination (particles, grit, etc.) entering the printer. It can also be caused by poor quality cards which have burrs or sharp edges. Replacing the sticky roller at the rear of the printer is important. This can minimise the risk of printhead damage. A new sticky roller is supplied with every new dye film.The only solution in this case is replacing the printhead assembly.This is very straight forward. The replacement comes with full instructions, and a special calibration spool for setting the density.Regards,MC.
