Beeping vary with each manufacturer, but verify if your wires are firmly connected (keyboard, mouse, video, etc.) If problem cotinues, then verify computer memory, you need to open it, and unplug/plug each memory card, sometimes just one are damaged, so... try each one alone.

make sure the boot order is starting from your hard drive the directions on how to change your boot order usually vary depending on what version of bios you have but they are usually self explanatory.

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

this changes the boot order and see if that solves your problem if not you will need to replace your modem I do hear that a modem can also cause this.

hope this helps

For an eMachines T5224 Desktop PC?

The eMachines T5224 Desktop PC uses an Intel 945GCL motherboard,

(Not advertising for the seller, or the website. Just posted for reference)

Motherboard Manual:

Intel Support > Intel D945GCL motherboard > Main Support page,

Go down to the subheading - Documents and Guides. (And -> is an Ampersand)
In the list under this subheading click on - Product guides

On this page click on the blue -
Intel Desktop Board D945GCL Product Guide - English (PDF)

This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the above file name it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.

[Took 10 seconds just now, using a medium speed DSL connection ]

The PDF file page number box is in the Top header, and is to the right of the Down Arrow.
The Zoom In icon ( + ) increases the view size, when you click on it.
The Zoom Out icon ( - ) decreases the view size.

IF you know the page number you want, you can use the Down Arrow to go page, by page to it, Or;

1) Put your mouse cursor in the page number box. Left-click once.
Anything in the page number box is now highlighted in blue.

2) Type the page number you want.
3) Press the Enter key.

Go to Page 11.
Shows an illustration of the motherboard. The view shown is actually 90 degrees to the right, in comparison to how it actually sits in the computer case.

[In the computer case; the Processor is to the Top, Ram memory slots to the Right, and long white PCI slots are to the Bottom ]

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the main wires from the Front Panel go to, is the Front Panel header.
It may have F_PANEL, or FP1, or the equivalent, silkscreened on the motherboard next to it.

In the illustration on Page 11 the letter V, points to the Front Panel header.
Motherboard mounted in your computer case, the Front Panel header is at the Bottom/Right corner.

Two rows of pins, and the area around them is color coded, for where the wires are supposed to attach to, from the Front Panel.

Go to Page 43.

Looking at the Front Panel header, there are two rows of pins. (Already stated, I know)
The TOP row is numbered ODD.

Starting at the RIGHT side of the header, (Or motherboard), and going towards the LEFT side;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

The BOTTOM row is numbered EVEN.

Starting at the RIGHT side of the header, going towards the LEFT side;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO pin 10. Just a blank spot.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED (Light)
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
IF the HDD activity LED light is dim when the Harddrive is active, switch the two wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

C) Pin 9 is N/C. Not Connected. It is/was used for the factory.

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED (Light)

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

There is no Pin 10.

is the network adapter onboard or an add-on card. if it's an add-on you may have accidently unplugged either the card or the cord when installing. if it's onboard you should go to device manager and see what IRQ's the hard drives and the network adapter are using, they may be conflicting, if that's the case just change one of them to something different.

Depends on where the password is.

If its just after PC switch on then CMOS battery will have to be removed AND mobo CMOS clearing jumper used.

If its just before window starts, you will need to reboot into safe mode and click on control panel, passwords and sometimes gain Admin control from there.

hard drive failure, possibly due to a virus, go buy a new harddrive and install windows on it and be careful, you can re-route your old harddrive by switching the pins to slave and then connecting it to the pc while off and unplugged after installing new hard drive and windows. then you can access your photos and such on the old drive before opening the old drive in windows scan the whole drive with a virus software.

hello is this a power on password or a harddrive password?

eMachines T5224... | Answered on Dec 12, 2010

You stated that it loads that OS on the other computer. Is this by taking out the hard drive and putting into another PC? If it is, then I would have thought there is h/w issue elsewhere in your PC...

Usually if you have a message saying that it could not load windows properly, it is an OS issue which I would recommend you fix by using your emachines recovery disks.

Hope that helps

You can download an OEM version from bittorrent sites, and as long as you have the genuine certificate of authentication label on the pc case you can install and activate it legally. Just make sure you get the correct version to match the label, e.g Home or Professional.

This can happen from an executable or other system files failing to load properly such as a video driver, etc. Try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 on start up. Also on rebooting enter system configuration and set the start up option to first boot from CD then USB, and finally Hard drive. This should then allow you to install from CD. Then put windows CD in drive and when you reboot you should see boot from CD press any key, located in the upper left of your screen be fast as this is only displayed for about 5 seconds. I have had similar problems and this has worked.

Power up your computer
start lightly tapping F8
It should bring up a menu, if not power down and try again
At the menu, choose SAFE MODE
Once the login screen displays, choose ADMINISTRATOR ( if that isn't an option, see below)

Hopefully, it logs you in, if it does;
click START
click RUN
Highlight your username and click RESET PASSWORD button.
Type in your new password twice, reboot and tada!

Guessing, but it sounds like your hard drive has been damaged. You may need a new drive, or at least repairs. If you have a "rescue disk", give that a try.
